There's not much I can rave about without spoiling it for the viewer but I will say that the cerebral quality of Star Trek is still very much in tact. The relationships and individual characters are better developed than ever, making the crew more of a team of equally brilliant and pivotal players rather than just a subordinate crew beneath the Captain. This kind of writing for characters like Uhura and Sulu and Scotty and Chekov has been a long time coming and I'm happy to see it.

I have to admit I was a little worried that they would "mess it up".
whether you're a Trekie or new to the Star Trek Universe, this movie is a must see. When my friends and family asked me what was so great about it I said "the whole package". The casting is perfect, soundtrack is beautiful, and the CGI is amazing.
This movie is an instant classic. In 20 years, people will still be watching this movie and sharing it with their children and grandchildren.
Star Trek is easily my favorite movie of all time.

Visually fantastic, here's a movie that really MOVES! I felt like I was in WARP SPEED!. The action was non-stop. The story was completely brilliant and entertaining. And the cast was just phenomenal!
I think the last Star Trek movie I saw in theaters was The Wrath of Khan (1982). A big round of applause to J.J. Abrams for giving life to a dying franchise! His resurrection is hip, adventurous, and full of laughs!

I've been a Star Trek fan since the original series. Though I wasn't born when it first aired, I was an avid watcher of the reruns in the 70s and 80s. I enjoyed most of the Star Trek movies and the only spinoff I really liked and watched faithfully was The Next Generation. I think this "reboot" movie does the original series justice, while including all of us who have been loyal along the way. Yes, I cried in the first 5 minutes of the movie. It was action packed, hilarious at times, in-your-face effects, and had a solid plot. It was great seeing it at the IMAX with a theater full of people who knew the characters enough to "Get It" and the new time twist - I love it. Though I must say, I have no idea how or what can top this.
