Just have to say, yet again, that this movie is simply one of my all-time favorites. I've seen it quite a few times and I love it more every single time. And every time I appreciate some element of it more, everything is so well done. The acting, the special effects, the shots, the dialogue, everything is done so effectively and beautifully that it's captivating yet blends together wonderfully. Plus, it's just an overall fun ride! I love this film!

My husband had been trying to get me to see this with him for a while now, but we just hadn't gotten the chance. When we saw it was showing on IMAX, I just had to get to it. I was a great movie, and seeing it on IMAX just made a great movie a spectacular experience! I would really recommend it to anyone.

This movie shows how they became who they were to become in an excellent way. The time travel aspect was done in a new and interesting way. The sound and special effects were very well done in paying homage to the past and going into the future of the series. The characters were given depth and not just a parody of the past.

'Star Trek: The IMAX Experience' is by far the best experience I've ever had when seeing a film, and this is, by far, the best movie I've seen this year. When I first saw 'Star Trek' I fell in love with the pure action, and thrill of the movie. I first saw this movie on the regular theater screen; when Paramount re-released 'Star Trek' in the IMAX theaters, I didn't see why I wouldn't want to see this again. I recommend watching 'Star Trek' in the IMAX experience because it is more entertaining and more fun than I ever expected. Go see 'Star Trek'!

Just when you thought a movie could not get any better, it does by putting it on IMAX. The special effects were amazing as well as the sound. I loved every minute of it, from the moment the opening credits until the closing credits. If you saw this movie once already in a regular theater GO BACK AGAIN! It's worth watching it on IMAX. WOW!!

What is the big deal with IMAX. I have seen this movie 3 times and the IMAX experience was not worth $15.00. Woo Hoo the screen is a little bigger than the regular movie screens in the rest of the theatre. Although I loved this movie I wanted to see what the big deal was with IMAX. And to tell the truth I couldn't tell a difference in the film on the smaller screens or the IMAX. The only thing other than the inflated price tag for the movie was the volume of the movie. The Bass was so loud it actually makes you sick in the stomach because the bass was so loud. I have seen other IMAX movies where the screen was up on the ceiling and the viewers were more reclined and the screen was curved. This IMAX was a disappointment.

As a true Trekkie, I was hesitant to see this movie, as I am a purist, at heart and feel that a prequel can ruin classic stroylines such as the original Star Trek in it's two original seasons.
I was surprisingly entertained and loved the fact that the story line was closely tied onto Gene Roddenberry's original plot. It linked in characters from the TV show and, with the exception of Spock's future self brought in, the movie made sense. I give it two thumbs up!

This is our second I-max movie, the first was Batman. Of couse we were not disappointed. We had two of our close freinds come this time and it was their first I-max.They loved it too. With the reserved seating, gigantic screen , earth shaking sound,easy access to snack bar and bathrooms make the $16 dollars worth it. I do not agree on the $1 service charge, thats bogus. Star Trek blew us all away, I recomend this strongly.

This was our first IMAX experience. The big screen made the action seem more realistic and 'IN YOUR FACE'. The sound took getting used to, at first I thought our neighbors were chatting then realized it was the movie. This was also my first Star Trek movie. Never been a big sci fi fan, my boyfriend dragged me to this one. More entertaining than I anticipated, even a little comic relief. All in all, worth the time and a few extra bucks to see it on the big, BIG screen.

Me and my two sons have now seen this movie 6 times! The last two times were in IMAX. I would suggest to anyone who is a Star Trek fan to see this movie in IMAX before they take it out. The movie itself does a great job of being able to be approachable to those who know nothing about Star Trek while staying somewhat true to the fans. There were just a few plot issues I had and 1 character I thought wasn't represented very well, but other than that, excellent movie.

The movie is awesome to say the least. A little loud though, but I guess that is what it takes to get you into the action. IMAX image resolution and screen size is great. Not comfortable if you have hearing issues, because it is really, really loud, I am not kidding.

Let me first say that I haven't been to an IMAX presentation in years so I did not know what to expect. The picture was fantastic. Super clear and on a huge screen. The main problem was with the sound which was so loud and intense my daughter, who is hard of hearing, had to turn off her hearing aids and I ended up wearing earplugs. Loved the clear picture but hated the sound. A little less would be better. Great movie but give the IMAX a miss and see it in the regular theater. It's cheaper too!

This was the second time we saw the movie and we wanted to experience it in IMAX. The screen size and sound were the most obvious improvements. Picked up lots of things the second time that we missed. We love all things Star Trek and the new movie was awsome. My sister and brother in laws that aren't into Star Trek even liked it. J.J. Abrams did a fine job with this. It had great development of the characters and a fast-moving and engaging plot that didn't require you to ignore gaping implausibilities. There were plenty of parallels to the rest of the Trek canon for those of us who are familiar with it, but it stood on its own for non-Trekkies too. The only even minor complaint I have with it is that they failed to make as much use of Simon Pegg as Scotty as they could have.

The theatre is excellent..though it lost sound momentarily on two occassions..//
The movie is okay but nothing exceptional..The space scenes and the gizmos are too abstract to fathom..but that was to be expected with Star trek.The IMAX is more suited to visually spectacular thrillers like the Bond ones or Cliffhanger than the Sci-Fi....I would give it 7/10 overall.

Fast paced doesn't begin to describe. The special effects are spectacular from beginning to end. The cast was amazing - each main character embraced the look and the actions of the original and then owned it by the end of the movie. Left the theatre wanting to have a sequel NOW, so I could experience the incredible cast and action again.

If you have IMAX please, please go see this Star Trek prequel. The characters are not overdone or campy. BUT you do get a hint of the persons who came after. The visuals are awesome but not so visual that you lose track of the actual story. The story and the graphics are just seamless. The characters are believable which doesn't always happen. AND on a big screen plus in IMAX this movie comes to life. You are right there with Kirk, Spock, Scotty, Sulu and all the others. Go see this!!!
