An interesting documentary but I would probably wait for the DVD to come out. Also, as it chronicled the Sept 2007 issue, it would have been more interesting if it was released sometime in 2008. But overall, interesting and at times entertaining.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I left this movie feeling sorry for Anna Wintour. Not inspired. RJ did a fine job in capturing a woman who has put work first and foremost in her life. Her daughter knows it too.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

HORRIBLE.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. THERE WAS NO POINT TO THIS MOVIE. IT GAVE NO INSIGHT INTO THE FASHION WORLD AND WAS SO DULL, I NEARLY WALKED OUT.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Too bad, or perhaps not, Anna's story pales in comparison to Grace Coddington's, Vogue's chief editor. She emerged most beautifully as the central figure in this story of the creative process and production of the huge September issue, and in subtext the history of Vogue's place in the fashion industry. With long red hair, stunning beauty, now "of a certain age" ala Bonnie Raitt, she was a totally compelling figure with wit, pathos, creative depth and breadth, warmth (in a sea of cold), and passionate commitment to the art of the photo shoot. Her stamp is all over whatever Vogue's creative hallmark was and is.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

We enjoyed this movie very much and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in and/or would like to know more about the fashion industry. Our teenage daughter is considering a career in fashion so this movie gave us some insight as well as an interesting perspective that we would otherwise not be exposed to. The background music was very enjoyable and added much to the movie itself. As a result of seeing this movie, we have a much better understanding of what goes on behind the scenes of editing/publishing a major fashion magazine. Althought it's hard work, it can also be a lot of fun!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A rare insight into the machine that is fashion publishing at its highest level. A slow build reveals Grace as the creative vision behind the signature Vogue style.
Other than the self-important label queen that is Andre Leon-Talley, very surprising is the self acceptance of the senior creative team members whom wear little make-up, seem to have very little, if any plastic surgery and perform their professional fashion lives in the most functional and mundane looking clothing.
Highly enjoyable at every level, I would love to see it again. Lots of eye candy.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

For anyone expecting "Devil Wears Prada", this will be a disappointment. The reality is putting a fashion magazine together is not as glamorous as it seems in the movies. Unfortunately, there was so much potential to make The September Issue a great documentary, and thank God for Grace Coddington, or it would have been dull. The movie felt unfinished and lacked real depth. With the exception of Grace, the other members of staff were reduced to Wintour's verbal roadkill, or walk-on roles -- a tragedy considering the larger than life character that is Andre Leon Talley.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
