I haven't seen all of M. Moore's movies, but now I'm not sure why not. Capitalism, ALS is relevant, theatrical, and inspiring. There are people who can comfortably rationalize being vultures to anyone who might be in the right place at the wrong time, or the wrong place at the wrong time, or god-forbid have actual frailties. And then there are the rest of us, who don't understand that way of being, but are somehow cogs in its wheel. So along comes Michael Moore, who can take an enormous open question like whether capitalism is really how we have to live in the U.S., and address it entertainingly, without making it depressing. He makes a case for his point of view and provides a call to action using the best pitch ever for democracy.

We go only to extraordinary movies, and this was one of them. We've been to a movie maybe 3 times in the last 10 years, they're all garbage, but this one is the "once in a blue moon" movie. Predictably, Moore lived up to his rep, didn't disappoint us, not even close. I feel better now that I know I'm not the ONLY ONE that thinks like this movie was made. It's scary that we are under the control of corruption, politics and greed! Power to the people!

I really became sad that what is happening to the US economy is being governed by people who are super rich who are the 5% of the population. The people we elected to the power who should be protecting the people are the ones who are hiding in hypocracy and protecting these super rich. Me as an ordinary american can not do anything. I can only watch these rich people becomes more rich while at the same time they are destroying my future because they decide to move my job abroad. I was thinking that they do it while playing golf with their super rich friends (CEOs). Lobbyist giving money is a form of "legal corruption" in the government.

Very enlightening. The fact that companies can buy life insurance on employees other than 'key employees (like executives, top mgmt)" is completely disturbing. Should be illegal but then the insurance companies would have a fit, lobby to congress and nothing would get done anyway. Racket.

Even though I knew many of the things shown in this film, they were presented in a powerful and convincing way. So powerful I'm surprised the release of the film was not suppressed. There are bits of humor and irony that highlight rather than distract from the serious message that there is something fundamentally wrong with our economy and culture and that we need to correct it.

This movie accurately portrays the state of affairs in early 21st century America....we are not a republic but have become a plutocracy thanks mostly to the Conservatives on the Supreme Court that equate money with 'speech' our elected leaders are bribed (legally) with so-called "campaign contributions and perks" and paid for by the richest and greediest. Seeing this movie reminds me how mad I am that we continue to go about our daily grind in a semi catatonic state. I was highly annoyed by this movie. Michael Moore juxtaposed struggling, low-income families and executives paid far too much by their bailed out banks, which is sad to see, but is not caused by capitalism! The problem is regulation, NOT capitalism. There needs to be a regulation overhaul, not a switch to socialism, which Moore was suggesting. Competition is good for the economy and has gotten us to our level of wealth today.
What a waste of time- go see the meatball movie. There's probably more economic insight woven into that film than this terrible waste of 2 hours.

First and foremost, it's obvious the 'R' rating is something either political or financial, because an 'R' rating on this movie, simply didn't make any sense. For parent wondering if they can bring their children, bring them. Engage them. The craziness of our financial markets and the liers, cheats and thieves effects them too. Michael Moore is a brilliant storyteller. He has put together an indictment of our economic system that is a real eye-opener, even for someone like myself who reads the paper every day and thinks they know what's going on! It's extremely upsetting, very interesting, and somehow manages to have humor. Great movie!!!!!

What he points out is that capitalism, as practiced now, is a morally bankrupt and even evil system. (What, you thought I'd argue with that?)
What's depressing is, we're probably at the point where there's no turning back.
I do want everyone (yes, even the people who hate Moore) to see this movie. It should open many eyes.

I wish everyone who believes in the American Dream would go see this movie- and see how it has been taken away bit by bit. Our Congress is a sellout. And the President we elected has quietly sold out, too. It is up to us to remind him WHO put him in office, and WHAT we elected him to do. We the People CAN STILL SAVE OURSELVES. But it is TIME NOW TO WAKE UP before it is too late. GO SEE THIS MOVIE. It is not perfect, but it is funny, sad, and informative all at the same time.

I'm one of four sons born to hard working parents that made many sacrifices so that their children could have a good life. They taught us many core values and beliefs that we could pass down to our children and live our lives with. It is sad to see what America has come to with the rampant greed and it's people being oppressed by the wealthiest one percent in this country. Everyone should see this movie. Everyone should demand our country back and fight for our freedom. Wake up America. Turn off the TV and fight for your Freedom.

Not just about the Wall Street meltdown, it covers many facets of the sad plight everyday Americans find themselves in. Shocking, hopeful, and tearfully sad all at once.

This is an excellent movie. I highly recommend it. Moore does an excellent job of making a movie that really shows us how messed up we are. It's an important movie and worth seeing.
