What can I say? There were so many places that the movie I've been waiting for since I was 7 could have gone wrong. And it did not go wrong in any of them. In fact, it went right. Everywhere. Intelligent, sharp dialogue. Good-to-excellent acting. A smartly-devised plot with lots of tension between the protagonists. The superb action sequences are really a backdrop for what takes place between these flawed individuals who possess extraordinary abilities. The plot puts them in a situation where the only logical choice is to work together. The result: brilliant.

This is the best of the Avengers-related movies to date. It is fast-paced and full of action and The Hulk gets the best reaction from the audience. It is really nice to see that Hollywood is making us heroes again instead of victims. The teaser after the credits let's us now there's more to come! Can't wait!!

It was a pretty good movie, the story was okay as long as you suspend belief, the actors were pretty good, what really got me was how funny it was. It was just campy and silly enough, but the between characters humour was a riot!

I'd seen the preview several times, and each time, we said "no interest" and probably made some of those "what's with all the comic book movies" complaints, like a true middle-aged person. But I ended up seeing it for a few other reasons, and was really surprised to find such an enjoyable movie. It has a number of very well-developed characters and watching their interactions was truly fun. Sharp funny dialogue. Robert Downey Jr. was fantastic, as always, and Mark Ruffalo was a great Banner/Hulk.

Credit Joss Whedon, he really made the most of this tentpole opportunity. His direction lead to the best superhero movie from marvel yet. They finally got the Hulk right - and Mark Ruffalo deserves huge credit here. Fantastic.

The Avengers was by far the best super hero movie I have ever seen. I was very leary at first because I have had no desire to see Thor, Captain America nor the Hulk (have always loved Iron man) but you really do not need to see the others. I love love Robert Downey Jr in this movie. I really don't think many actors could have pulled off his comedic timing.

Nothing in this movie is less than awesome! Snappy dialogue, especially from sarcastic Tony Stark, action that delivers non-stop thrills, and characters that are very easy to love! Now, Thor...he is one hot demi-God! The special effects are top of the line...watch Dr. Banner morph into the Hulk and Tony step gracefully out of his high-tech Iron Man garb. Loki, the rascal that he is, shows us way more than mischief this time around
Hawk-eye, with his bow and dead-aim arrows, makes some mayhem of his own that at first surprises us but soon delivers an Avenging hero! Black Widow sees to that!
Humorous all the way, the "kids" don't play well at first, and cans of serious whip-ass are opened on each other. They do learn to play nice eventually...boys will be boys after all!
I will be asking Santa for the DVD!

Finally a superhero movie I loved, my kids loved and my wife loved. Very fast paced and just the right amount of humor. I loved this film.
