Cannot wait for the sequel!!! This action packed movie had me on the edge of my seat. Truly loved it. I also liked how they brought all the actors from the various superhero movies and got them together in the Avengers. The fighting scenes were fantastic!!!

My largest concern was the amount of screen time split between all of the large names they had in this movie. I must admit though, they did a brilliant job of it. The movie flowed with non-stop action and the story was surprisingly really good. The comedy and characteristics of each super hero were woven carefully in with references to the other super hero movies thrown in when appropriate.
I will be seeing this movie again very soon.

Took the kids. Great movie for young and old. Lot's of action, and the special effects were easy to watch. I though that Transformers : Dark of the Moon made me dizzy, but not so with this movie. This movie did a really good job of juggling a lot of information all at once. There were a lot of stars in this movie, and it would have been disappointing if it hadn't let them all shine. The character interactions were all believable and you're never going "Ok, now why is that guy working with this guy, exactly?" which is always a danger with this kind of mash-up movie. In general, the script really worked. My only complaint is that the villain's motivations are somewhat glazed over, but if you know the previous movies and comics you already know that information. That's really my only con, since you're supposed to know information going in.
Hulk is handled better in this movie than in any previous incarnation, and it's an ensemble piece, which makes that even more impressive. Without giving away any spoilers, there is one scene involving the Hulk that is worth the price of admission by itself.
This movie is now one of my favorite comic book movies. I enjoyed it about as much as X-Men 2. The characters drive the story, which I expected when I saw Joss Whedon would direct.
In conclusion, the movie was very good, is absolutely worth going to see in the theatre, but not multiple viewings (unless you absolutely have to catch every one of Tony Stark's jokes: some of them are pretty rapid-fire). If I was 10 years old again, I'd have rated this movie 5 stars: it's a lot of fun.

There are 73.8 million children who are a part of families created through adoption. It's odd that Disney would choose to send a message that adopted children are less part of a family than biological children, but that's exactly what happens in The Avengers.
In one key scene, as the Avengers are assembled they review the evil committed by Loki. Thor confronts the rest of the Avengers because Loki is his brother. When the Avengers list the atrocities he has committed, Thor volunteers that "Loki was adopted". It got quite a laugh from the audience. It implies that an adopted sibling is less family than biological children.
Children don't need to be told they are inferior or defective or less of a family member because they were adopted, especially from someone as trusted as the Walt Disney Company.
The movie was excellent and I don't regret taking my son to see it. I just thought we had moved beyond these stereotypes about adoption.
This is my point of view as the father of an adopted child.

Entertaining, fun and full of action. Robert Downy Jr is excellent. He is a good role model for others who can beat a bad past and do good in today's world. My grandsons loved this movie the best! They are already talking about the sequel.

this movie pulled it all together. The action was great, but what was unexpected was how truely funny parts of this movie were. Several scenes, had the entire room roaring with laughter, something I really never even hear at some good comedies.
PS... stay for after the credits

This movie is better than any of the previous super hero movies that preceded it that focused only on one of the featured characters. It was actually surprising to see The Hulk steal the show since his previous movies have been somewhat disappointing. Iron Man is also great in this movie. IMO, Iron Man and The Hulk steal the show. Thor is great too, as is Captain America. I'm ready for a new set of films featuring each of the superheros separately. I think they will be better now that they have come into character. It's a shame that Hawkeye and Black Widow haven't had their own movie. I hope they make one! In short, this movie is great and revitalizes each of the heros featured to a point where you'll want to see more of them. I enjoyed it a lot!!!
