With the economy now we have to pick and choose what movies we go to and what ones are DVD. I am so glad we chose theatre for this one. I thought is was terrific. A must see. Good acting and loved the comedy and action. Don't wait for the DVD.

Fun entertainment...I couldn't give it 5 stars because a lot of the action was hard to follow, they made it go by so fast. A must see on the big screen for the special effects. Stay through the credits for a teaser on the sequel

I go into these super hero movies expecting a hugh failure, but my 7 year old son lives for them. I was surprised at how much it grabbed (and held) my attention. It had a great story line and the special effects were really really good. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. I also like how they kept the "bad words" to a mininum. Very impressive. Obviously Thor will return in The Avengers, but there should be a second one. They left a lot of things open that left me with the, "that can't be it, I want more" feeling. Great job on the movie, can't wait to see it again!!

Outstanding:
good story line.multiple lines entertwined, love story, adventure, growing up, decite, lessons in responsability.
great visual. amazing vistas,super special effects,cgi,very imaginative.
great sound. not so loud as to be overwelming,but yes you can feel it.and not so quite as to be unheard.
great acting.glad to see Rene Russo even in a small part Natalie Portman is so cute and so sincere every guy wants to take her home. Chris Hemsworth, now this guy can sell posters, to every woman in the world.
needs a sequel. The ending does leave an open door for a sequel not everything is resolved, repairs in Asguard,what of Jane's search,What can Thor do,does Odin have the power to repair the rainbow bridge or does that lie somwhere else?will love win out?
last I say; well made well done go see it be entertained!!

Sets/CGI were very pretty and the movie was fast -paced. This was basically a "back story" movie. The acting and accents were good, but not great. It was strange to see Natalie Portman, now an academy award winner, playing a ditzy scientist. Decent action - there wasn't enough of it, though. Easter Egg at the end!

This movie is just pure entertainment! The tongue and cheek writing, the amazing sets & graphics plus simplicity of the acting made it a film to enjoy. By simplicity, I mean these pros made it look easy so they did their jobs well. Natalie Portman is a beauty. Chris Hemsworth, "THOR", is well, eye candy and then some. I think he has a good acting future ahead. All the seasoned actors were great. I'm already looking forward to the sequel!!

More faithful to the FEEL of the early Marvel comics, than to the actual stories. A wonderful tribute to Stan, Larry, and, especially, Jack. Fun and touching. Hemsworth is terrific, and the whole cast was good.

great intro movie to explain the character of Thor, cant wait for avengers! i thought this was a great movie though, very funny, and action packed, i just wanted more, 2 hrs wasnt enough, and i saw it at 12:01 am and had to get up for work at 5am, well worth it!

I saw the 1015am showing of Thor-I had 5 boys with me-the youngest was 5 the oldest was 9! Not one kid talked the entire time and their eyes were as big as quarters! I think I even said "awesome" a few times myself! I love Marvel movies and this is by far my favorite! Very clean, and not a lot of gore either! Well done! What a great way to spend a Saturday morning and well worth the money spent! I was the cool mom/aunt that Saturday! Definitely an all around great movie with excellent acting!

wasnt sure what to expect, with kenneth brannagh directing, but this is the best overall marvel movie so far, the action was superb, the struggles of an arrogant thor being humbled as a castout, the cinematography was flat out awesome, assgard looked like the real deal, the 3-d is nothing to jump up and down about, but this movie rocks, and that hammer really steals the show.

Thor was always the weakest of the superhero stories, since it was essentially just ripped off from Norse Mythology, and not in a novel way as in Stargate. However, the movie did justice to the story and made the story engaging and interesting. It was pretty to look at, had great action sequences with some good humor injected to even out the pacing... and there's more than enough man-candy for the wives!

OMG....I didn't think I would even like the movie but I loved it. Grandson talked me into seeing this and I planned to take a nap. My mind was changed at the very beginning. If you like movies with comic book heros, you will probably like this one. The acting is solid, though not impressive. The special effects are excellent. The story line is fairly good.

Took my 10-year old son to it; thought it was an entertaining flick that kept our interest throughout. Easy humor, solid special effects, good acting. Excellent father-son(s) storyline, and we saw it in 2D, which worked just fine. It's a well-made film, not just a "blow things up special effects bonanza". Because of that, along with Hemsworth's charm and good looks, I'm guessing most women could tolerate the action scenes. I'd definitely recommend this movie to anyone.

This was much better than I expected. Captured the mythology of Thor very well. Great cast and great direction. Highly recommended. Especially if you ever read Thor or the Avengers! A good comic book adaptation. Not quite as good as the original Iron Man, but better than the Fantastic Four crapfests, and much better than Daredevil and Elektra, etc. And far, far better than the third X-Men movie.

Thor was solid & very entertaining. It covered a lot of ground in 2 hours to prep the Asgardian connection & to build the background story for the audience. This a solid production with great effects & holds pretty closely to what I recall of the comic book.I loved it having been a Thor fan at some point & my wife loved it knowing nothing about the comics & very little about the basic myths. This movie is one of many character builds for the Avengers movie (Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America) which will use the same actors. Definitely a must see at the theater to get the full effect.
