If you're a Thor fan, you'll love it. Amazing effects with a decent story. I felt at times the story dragged a little, but overall a great 2 hours spent.

This story had substance with plenty of action GO see it, it is worth the money. Anthony Hopkins did great as always, Strong cast, great story line, and can't wait for the Avengers. Stay after the credits to see a small clip.

The movie avoided one major thing. Thor having the secret ID of Dr. Donald Blake.
Oh, that was an easter egg thing here with the "Don was my ex." and that ID used as a cover for Thor but in the comics when Odin cast out Thor he had the Secret ID of a lame doctor. It was very Clark Kent/Superman.
That's gone and that's good. The rest is Golden. Asgard was Awesome and the effects very well done. 4.5 out of 5

Stay for the bonus scene after the credits begin just as you did for Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and The Incredible Hulk. Thor, a supernatural hero, is the next installment in the creation of the superhero team known as The Avengers to even the newest fan of Marvel Comics. The movie tells the back story of how the Norse God of thunder becomes a team member here on Earth. The story is heavy on CGI and light on character development, but its not meant to be great theater, its what it is - a chapter leading up to a very anticipated collaboration of the Marvel superheroes in a single over the top blockbuster. Never mind that Anthony Hopkins could have been more as he has been in other films, he's here and that elevates the overall stature of the movie. Think of it as an action packed family film safe to take the kids to knowing that they are already awaiting the teaming up of the Avengers due out next May!

This is a fun movie to go to. Was glad that there was no nudity or cussing in this film. It was a fun action packed way to spend a couple hours. I remember reading Thor comics and this was true to them.

My husband & I enjoyed most everything about Thor! The concept of seeing so many Marvel comics come to life is simply icing. This is probably more like a 5-star for most people but I prefer to reserve 5-star rating for the unexpected blow you out of the water movie. That said, a definite must see for any Marvel fan!!

I didn't know what to expect from this movie. However, word of mouth reviews from friends were all positive.
I took my 13 years old son and his friend to watch and I was pleasantly surprise with the movie. Thor isn't as popular as some of Marvel characters (I.e., Spiderman, Iron Man, etc) but certainly this movie deliver in many ways:
Storyline - Origin of Thor (5-5)
Acting - (5-5)
Action scenes - (5-5)
CGI - (5-5)
Make sure you stay to the end and watch the scene after the credits. I love this concept with Marvel comics and tying it with future movies!
Will buy the movie when it comes out on BluRay..

This movie looked like another dumb superhero movie that has bad acting and scenes, but Thor was actually well put together. Not only that, but comedy was added too, and the whole theater laughed at many of the parts. If you break it down, Thor is a great movie with the plot thickening every second!

Filled with action and excellent graphics. Everytime I hear thunder now, I think of Thor. I would definitely recommend this to a family. No guts are involved and filled with funny humor. You won't be disappointed with this if you love Marvel heroes!

Thor is HOT but his romance with Jane was really weak and hard to even imagine (you know a sequel is coming, but nothing to yearn for). Portman's a good actress but not in this role.
Special effects were really pretty good and the storyline was interesting, though a bit predictable. Reminded me a lot of the original Superman movie starring Chrisopher Reeve. Probably won't win any oscars but moderately entertaining for 2 hours. Do have to add it's one of the better movies playing right now.

If you are looking for a fun film for the whole family, this is a great movie. All of the actors were great and the action was dramatic. There is none of the "Hop into bed" syndrome. Thor is quite the gentleman - women will like the shirtless scene too ;D This is one of the intro movies for The Avengers movie in 2012. Also, STAY UNTIL THE VERY END FOR THE STINGER FOR THE 2012 MOVIE...it says volumes! Everyone at my showing left before it!

Considering what gets the PG13 rating nowadays. I would have rated this movie PG. I took my 5 yr. old and 11 yr. old to see it. It was a great movie. It had some comedy. Lots of action minus the gore and blood. The story line was very black and white. The lines between good and evil were clearly drawn. We all enjoyed it. Kenneth Branagh did a great job producing this. It's worth noting, my eleven yr. old daughter is sensitive to violence in movies. She loved this moved. "Awesome" were her exact words.
