Entertaining, great effects, some funny moments, a well done film that fulfilled my expectations. Even my wife liked it. Though I have to admit, we both got a bit snarky about the whole shakespearean thing that was going on with Chris Hemsworth's dialog. Of course, I imagine this was not entirely his fault.

The movie was very good. I was a bit disappointed with the ending though. I was left feeling like the whole movie was a LONG intro. I took my boys age 4 and 5 and it didn't work well for them. I would recommend it for ages 8 and up. There isn't enough action to hold the attention of younger children. I also didn't watch it in 3D, the movie was great in 2D and if you are on a budget just wait to watch it at home. I don't see the benefit in watching it at the theater. My TV at home is a lot sharper than the movie screen.

After reading some of the reviews, the movie holds true to them. It starts off with a bang, takes some time to develop character and plot and the final battle is fantastic. An enjoyable movie for both me and my 11 year old daughter!

This movie was a lot better than I expected!!! GREAT!!!! Loved the cast. Can't wait for the Avengers!!! Chris Hemsworth makes a wonderful THOR, and as always Sir Anthony Hopkins doesn't disappoint, as Odin. Good direction, story progressed well, great CGI, and action shots!! Definitely will recommend!

This movie had some really cheesy moments (like Thor flying around with his hammer), but was overall a really fun experience. Great character development and I'll sit for two hours anyday to see this guy! Yummy.

Very enjoyable interpretation of the early Marvel Thor story.Hopkins was a fine Odin. Hemsworth was very well cast. He walked a fine line between the restless bravado and arrogance of the truly powerful and an essentially good-hearted and straightforwrd soul who is not stupid or entirely unfeeling. Loki's turbulent emotional ride was carried off very well too. His evil did not spring out of nowhere. None of the other cast were a disappointment. Brannagh was a good choice for this epic level of story and he knows how to draw performances appropriate to the soul- and kingdom-shaking emotions involved.Visually not only beautiful but again realizing the early Kirby Asgardian style and doing a fabulous job of making believable a technology so advanced as to seem like magic. The voice of the actor playing the leader of the ice-giants is wonderfully resonant and insinuating.I loved the cost of the ultimate victory. Somehow not quite adding up to five stars but a really good superhero film. I would love to see more of this.

THOR has been a favorite comic book hero of mine, rnaking up there with Superman, Batman, Ghost Rider, etc..etc... THOR the movie was well made, actors worked well with script, and Norse Mythology suffered little by 'creative license' it was a grand thrill ride and classic good v/s evil hi vis - hi res - intense movie magic and we chose 2d v/s 3d!

My husband and I took our kids, and we all really liked it. I don't think my son (7) took his eyes off the screen at all! Some parts may be a little too intense for younger kids, but the violence/fighting sequences weren't gory or bloody. All in all, I thought it was a good family movie.

I loved this move. Had action, great acting, had great storyline. Really one of the best movies I had seen in a while. They went into all aspects of Thor's life and didn't leave you hanging when he was on Earth. Go and see this movie you will not be disappointed!

Special effects were off the charts. Thor, as a character and as a visual effect, was spot on. Cinematography was gorgeous. (So was Chris Hemsworth!) Story line was as expected for a comic book turned feature film, a little weak, but enough to keep you turning pages. Overall, I loved it and will probably go back and watch it again before it is out of the theaters!

It was a pretty good movie, but seemed to lack something, not sure exactly what. Aside from this having the names of the Norse pantheon, there was not much that felt "Norse". There really could have been a lot more character development between Loki and Thor, and even with Thor's entourage. The movie had a great look, but just missed the mark slightly.

I don't like this rating system. I give Thor a "good" or a "B". 4 stars is usually considered very good. I was so excited to see Thor and I love Kenneth Branaugh movies but something was missing from this movie. Chris was perfect as Thor. The first 20 mins were exciting and then the movie sort of lagged. The story line was solid but I guess there was some - for lack of a better word - penache missing. Make sure you stay after all the credits have rolled. Movie goers tend to forget this from Marvel. They always give you a sneak preview of what's coming next or story line for next movie

Great way to spend a Saturday night. Chris Hemsworth played Thor with just the right amount for brashness, bravado and charm. Wish they would have had a bit more on how he became Thor (training and his skills) and his fish-out-of-water time on Earth (bits shown were funny), but overall a strong based-on-comic movie.

THOR was an energy packed movie almost from the very start. The look of the outfits, characters and outer space realms was very much in keeping with the comic book illustrations yet they were typically tweeked and boldly enhanced digitally. Hollywood did what they do and added a sharpened gleaming 'edge' to the feel of the all the fantasy imagery. The story line was generally decent and the movie pace did not drag at all. For the ladies watching, it had a very believable though sometimes struggling love connection between our 'god' hero and the earth-bound mortal scientist played by Natalie Portman. There were some elements that really pushed the limits of your 'suspension of disbelief' ( like a small time scientist with what looks like many thousands of dollars worth of equiptment smack dab in a circular glass building right in the middle of a tiny midwest town) though those were few. But ultimately, like we all want in all good action films, the 'bad guys', be they on earth as the government or the ice giants in their cold realm in this flick, got their butts handed to them big time by the good guy, the god of Thunder and his other worldly associates. Hemworth (Thor) looks and feels the part of the Marvel Comics legend extremely well with golden locks, disarming smile and 'god-like' hard chisled muscular frame. Upon first seeing his torso in full on the screen, there were a few delighted gasps from the ladies in the audience. He genuinely comes across as fearless and ever anxious for the thrill of battle yet unwaveringly devoted to the Asgard, his home realm. This movie was definitely NOT a loser for Marvel.

Excellent. i have been a comic person for over 30 yrs-way to go Marvel and stan lee. Cute part for Stan, as usual. Cinamophotography was great, great actor for Thor and rest of cast was good also. will be going again
