I swallowed the bait hook line & sinker. Talk about a surprise ending, one of the best red herrings I've ever seen. I would go see it again.I love the direction the movie takes from the very beginning down a path of excitement & suspense that leaves you literally hanging on the edge of a cliff. The panoramic shots alone are breath taking and worth the price of admission. That being said, must warn you their is some offensive language, & partial nudity.

This was a good movie- not lifelong memorable, but- decent. I noticed many places though where it seems production was not of good quality- many scenes were blurry when they should have been focused while many were just overall poorly shot. I was not impressed with the filming quality at all. Plot was decent, and it kept you involved all the way through.

I was all set for a great, fun, thrilling film. What I got was a boring 80 minutes, with some fun and thrills for the last 18. It should have been a great thriller: it had good actors, a good producer. But the writing and directing were very disappointing. The lead up (before the action) was about 2 times too long, and because it was so slow and uninteresting, it felt like 3 times too long. The last 20 minutes were fun and had some suspense, and the plot had an interesting, although very predictable twist (you could see the twist about 30 minutes before it was revealed). I don't understand all the hype.

This movie was fun: a great summer thriller. It had all of the right twists and pretty good character development. It was very tense at times, but there was humor and beautiful vistas as well. Zahn, Jovovich and Olyphant do an excellent job, and the other actors were quite good as well. It was convincing and lots of fun.

Love watching Milla Jovovich & Tim Olyphant on the big screen and they do not disappoint. They both do great work in this suspense, action, psycho-drama that snakes it's way through twists and turns to it's "surprise" conclusion. Steve Zahn keeps getting better with each new movie and keeps surprising me with his range. Great acting, fantastic scenery & cinematography, tight editing and pacing, above average dialogue....all make for a fun bit of movie escapism. Really, the only weakness is the "meat of the story" as it is a fairly common "B movie" plot. That said....it gets an A+ in production values and acting! See it!

I enjyed this movie a lot. I'm a big Zahn fan and his acting in this movie was really top-notch. The big twist ending did take me by surprise. I know director David Twohy doesn't have the greatest track record but he was a good choice for this material. See it with someone who likes to be shocked.

I was really roped in by the trailer so was anxious to see the movie the first day it was out and I wasn't disappointed. It was suspenseful and the superb acting of the main characters caused me to flip flop in my head who dunnit throughout the whole film. The sneaky twist and ending was a shocker! The cast of the movie didn't disappoint and there was a good story idea going on, but you kind knew within the first 20-30 minutes what was going on if you were paying attention at all. For everyone else who isn't cynical about their movies and go to them to have fun, it's a really good who-done-it flick with a pretty decent twist. Hearkens back to the Natural Born Killers but for a new generation. I highly recommend seeing it though, if for nothing more than the beautiful scenes of Hawaii.

I went to see this film because of Milla Jvovavich, Tim Olyphant and Steve Zahn. And they did not disappoint. The film is creepy, exciting, funny and very sneaky as it keeps you guessing for a long time. and when you know the truth, it takes off like a rocket to its conclusion. also a stand out is Kiele Sanchez, who is definitely headed for stardom.
But is is Olyphant who steals the film. Handsome, funny and sympathetic, he is menacing, crazy and in the end, a revelation.
Twohy a fine director is always first rate and like any good director, you hardly notice his hand until your heart is racing.
You will flinch, you will root you will cheer and you will be touched by this great film

This movie was a lot of fun. It had a great bunch of actors who were extremely well cast. All the leads had tricky parts to play which they all did terrifically.
It had good suspense, beautiful locations, beautiful actresses, some clever dialogue and a great, totally unexpected, twist.
Logically, It's a bit hard to swallow hook, line and sinker. But if you don't think about it too much, you'll be fine.
Also, it features the soon-to-be-huge-movie-star Chirs Hemsworth (the lead in the upcoming "Thor" & "Red Dawn") in a great supporting role.
Well worth it. I recommend.

Do you remember Natural Born Killers? Well, that was one possible extreme for a guy-girl serial killer story. A Perfect Getaway tries to be something much less extreme than that and can't deliver the thrills. I can say 3 things about PERFECT GETAWAY: (1) It is BEAUTIFULLY and TECHNICALLY done; (2) It isn't what I expected - there's much more to it; (3) There is a HUGE twist towards the end. Take note: it is definitely rated 'R' for a reason. Newlyweds go to Hawai'i for their honeymoon ... there's a murder ... and you need to wait through an hour of build-up to figure it out. But the build-up has twists and some comic relief along the way. Stick with it and the payoff is worth it. 4 bags of popcorn ... go have some fun.

...the edited scenes are holding out on you while in present time (has a few flash-backs). They conveniently leave out key actions that are going on before your eyes and then show flash-backs at the end after everyone knows what is going on. It's one thing to leave an entire scene out where you can't be a fly on the wall, but it's something entirely different to edit out parts of a scene where you are the fly. The acting is very well done, which makes it extremely difficult to figure out what is really happening with the edited scenes. When Milla's character is telling the story of her first love, I knew that it was he who was the murderer, and I was right. I just didn't know who "he" was. Enjoy the show. The cinematography is GREAT!

'A Perfect Getaway' is this week's suspense/thriller hit. It will push you pulse rate to the limit! This is a unique film filled with screams and thrills, however, this movie will only make you want to forget once you are completely freaked out. I enjoyed, but it wasn't the best. Some will think it's fair, while others will just dislike it. Word for the wise.....make sure it is 'A Perfect Getaway'.
