The movie itself follows a well worn battle of good, evil and the hope of mankind. Some of this storyline is hopelessly mundane, yet the overall film was entertaining, held my interest and did, as I have read in other reviews, leave me with a feeling of hope for this world.
Not a five star movie for sure, but I would rate it well for the cast, the special effects and for the courage of the writers to re-use the God vs Man venue.

This movie is wonderful and full of excitement. The diner was so remote and reminded me of so many road signs that I saw on the road. It was well scripted and each actor played their respective parts well.The battle between good and evil forces were thruout the movie. The movie had brief moments of well staged thrills interupted by long periods of mediocre and predictable story. Everything was well acted, so even the story was forgiveable... except that the trailers gave the impression that the movie was about the giant battle between man and angels... it wasn't. I felt mislead and realized deep into the movie that there would be no epic angel battle. Big let down.
They left the plot open for a sequel that I don't believe will ever come (and one that I don't think the movie deserves due to the simplistic storyline). Definitely worth seeing if you're bored and you happen to watch a lot of movies. If your expectations are high... wait for the video. :)

The film had a promising atmospheric and stylish opening though I don't like films that start with narration. The dialogue was troublesome and story was very predictable. The editing though stylish left unanswered questions and there was some confusion regarding the daughter who was and wasn't possessed by malevolent angels. She was the only character to be able to be in two places at same time?
The cinematography was beautiful though in places over the top especially the ending sequences which looked like paintings from the Sistine Chapel and we were hit over the head with the Holy Family metaphor.

This movie could have been a great action/theological fiction movie, but they seem to have run out of money. Oddly lacking in suspense or captivating plot. The best creepy angel moment was already in the trailer. Go see Avatar again instead!

"Legion" had very good potential to be an action-filled movie with a decent plot. I wasn't expecting a blockbuster, but I wasn't expecting it to be terrible either. Unfortunately, it really was terrible.
The movie is just lots of sleepy dialogue and almost no action. It spends SO much time trying to make you care about the characters that it evokes the opposite reaction: you want them to be quickly eaten by angels just to prevent them from inflicting more dialogue upon you. There's simply not enough action, and not enough answers.
Couple that with the story having more holes than you can even wrap your mind around, and all you get out of watching the film is the ability to leave the theater extremely confused and disappointed.

I wasn't thrilled with Legion. It wasn't a horrible movie, but it did suffer.
The concept was good - a fallen angel wresting against God's wrath. The idea of a vengeful God may offend, but Revelations shows that even God needs a Pamprin now and again.
Still, the premise has lots of holes:
1) Who decided *this* baby would save mankind? Not God, apparently.
2) Why is God *just now* getting "tired of all the BS?" Wasn't He tuned in for the Holocaust? Or worse, the whole "leg warmers" craze of the early 80s?
3) If God possessed humans, wouldn't He have made them tougher to kill?
It's worth a theater trip to see the bloodier scenes on a 40-foot screen. I doubt they’d have the same impact on a 19-inch Sanyo.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

This is one of those movies where you see the preview & you're like, "wow, what a cool concept; I can't wait to see where it goes." If written well this movie could've been the beginning of a very interesting portrayal of the spiritual realm of Yetzirah. It was just a flat out weak attempt. Another thing I really didn't like was the whole possession aspect and the killing of all of those innocent people supposedly after them. The whole 'purpose' was just plain stupid, and as much as I hate to say it, there's no other way to put it. The special effects were good, but again they had a great opportunity to take us somewhere & there was no liftoff. Maybe 10+ years ago this would've been somewhat cool, but in 2010 it's just an offensive attempt.

This movie has some good action scenes and special effects. The storyline isnt really delivered in a way that meshes with the movie, its almost like the dialogue was stuck in as an afterthought. All in all a good netflix rental but not worth a theatre trip.
