My girls are 4 & 13... usually they don't like the same movies due to their age differences but even my 13 year old loved this move!!! My girls & I could not keep our eyes off the screen. The plot was great & the colors were bright & vivid, & the music was wonderful! WE will be getting the DVD when it comes out.

Everything Hayao Miyazaki touches is great and this was no exception. Its childlike innocence is reminiscent of his earlier work like My Neighbor Totoro and somewhat less creepy than Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. It's great for young children and for anyone who ever was one. I could have done without the touch of environmentalism he includes in most of his films but it wasn't so bad that it ruined the movie for me.

I must admit, I had no prior knowledge of this movie. We went to see it on Labor Day because the kids had cabin fever. The kids really enjoyed it and that is most important. The story and content was good for kids 8 and younger. It was a story about love and sacrifice to help others. There were underlying themes of trust and responsibility. It was about family and family relationships.

This is a movie that will have a bigger impact on some adults than children with the message it sends. A little longer than I'd hoped for having a 3 year old with me but for the most a must see.

I had heard less than stellar reviews from people, that its slow and boring. We went thinking we would leave if it was too slow. The story was imaginative and fun. The characters were entertaining and all three of my kids really enjoyed it. Even my 4yo sat through the whole movie!

This movie is about love between 5 year old boy and a girl and how the boy passes the test of "true love". C'mon ! It is not the age for kids to be thinking of "true love". If this movie was made by an American company everybody would be saying it is age inappropriate and how it is "male chauvanistic". In the end, the girl's mother asks the boy to take care of the girl..and the boy is just 5 years old !
