I loved Borat - found it shocking, hilarious, and was excited for the same with Bruno. I was extremely disappointed and utterly disgusted. I found it appalling. The only thing that kept me from walking out on it was the hope for one laugh, it never came. The people I saw the movie with felt the same. I don't know how this even made it to the movie theatres. I hope no one else wastes their time and money on this horrible excuse for a film.

This movie makes your jaw drop at least 15 times. I have never ever seem something like this. It is amazing how the director can create emotional feelings...an emotional rollercoaster ride. I will definately see the movie again. A very crude humor is required to see this movie, but I think the provocation of emotions is phenomenal!

Not for the easily sensitive . Straight people seemed uncomfortable and some even left the theater. Hard-core humor aimed mainly to a non straight audience, which unfortunately is still a minority, I laughed my a... off. Still, I felt embarrassed for the stereotype portrayed. Some cheesy explicit scenes were unnecessary and lowering their quantity may have made this movie appealing to a larger audience. I recommend this movie to my non-straight friends but non of my straight friends.

Being a huge fan of Sacha Baron Cohen and the Ali G show, seeing this movie was a no brainer. I expected Borat x 2 but all I got was Bruno - 1. Some of the jokes went stale after the first attempts. Yes I laughed a bit but no where near as hard as I laughed during Borat. I suggest renting the DVD as to not waste your money.

Maybe I'm a prude, but this was too over the top- it was pornographic with only a few funny laughs thrown in. I thought Borat was too much, but at least it was funny while pushing the envelope. The movie had its moments but on the whole felt disjointed and incoherent - a series of mediocre sketches strung together.
Its attempt at social commentary is also not very provocative or interesting. Borat was subtle at teasing out the prejudices of its subjects, whereas Bruno attempts to expose homophobia by perpetrating vile acts that would upset anyone. Americans cheering the slaughter of civilians at a rodeo is a disturbing glimpse at feelings many folks would like to pretend didn't exist. **SPOILER ** On the other hand, Americans getting angry over a fighting match devolving into two near-naked men making out on stage, dry-humping and licking each others’ nipples doesn’t seem particularly insightful.

While there were definitely some scenes, mainly in the 2nd half of the movie, that were hilarious, overall the movie crossed the line way too much. Some parts were practically like watching a p0rn0!
SBC is a genius in his way, but this also was actually the same formula as Borat. Foreigner comes to America in search of something and exposes the idiocracy that exists in some Americans.
I did think the scenes with the rednecks was hysterical and I'm amazed how far some parents are willing to go to use their children for fame. Sad.
Some funny stuff, but overall I can't recommend it because it just goes too far.

I think there were some great scenes in this movie but for me the joke wore off pretty quickly. I loved the scene about the focus group - I thought that was great because you could see how miserable the people were. I also liked the final scene at the fight - I thought the reactions from the crowds were classic. Otherwise it just seemed a bit like an episode of "Punk'd" but at the movies.

The movie was not as funny as I'd expected -- no Borat, in comparison. Definitely still laughed and appreciated Cohen's performance, but it left something to be desired, I guess. If you like Sacha Baron Cohen stuff, you'll definitely enjoy this. His stuff is typically not mainstream and most conservative people with traditional views find it offensive and are unable to enjoy the humor. I'd say, this is the best of his three movies, although the short Borat episodes he does in his show are still more entertaining.
