I think Sacha Baron Cohen is one of the funnier people in the industry right now, with that said, this movie takes things too far in too many directions. Unlike Borat, the grotesqueness often serves little to no purpose. The message of the movie is also inconsistent, one moment you get the impression Cohen is trying to mock/expose American bigotry, and then in another, one really feels like he is just trying to push the limits of what can be in an R rated movie for giggles.
Overall I would say it's worth seeing once, especially if you're homophobic, but it's not something I can watch multiple times like Borat.

Sacha Baron Cohen once again proves himself a master of physical comedy, no two ways about it. But what Bruno utterly lacks in its cheap mincing about and petty entrapments is the sheer charisma and heart of Borat, a character you loved despite his awkwardness. I was really looking forward to this movie but I just can't rate it very high. If Borat was a 10, this was a solid 5.
The humor is more lewd than funny. The constant nudity is overkill. It just wasn't funny. The mix of what appears to be effective Borat-style video of unsuspecting targets and what most clearly is staged skits doesn't really come together. Granted, it must be incredibly difficult for Sasha Baron Cohen to fool anyone after the brilliance of Borat, but this film just didn't come together for me.
There are some very funny parts, but I suggest wait for DVD and watch it at home.

I was hopeful for some raw comedy, but this entire movie produced a measly 2 laughs and a slight chuckle. I could barely sit through it and thought about leaving the theatre numerous times. I like edgy comedy but this was plain gross and I grew tired of repeated/extended/non-funny scenes of male nudity. Sacha Baron Cohen is a genius, however, this movie got a little tiring. I was disgusted by the parents auditioning their children. Liposuction for a toddler? Are f'n kidding me!? Hope it was staged... I'd wait until it's available on DVD.

So wrong and so funny... I loved this character the most of all. He was cute and the costumes hysterical. Loved the German, made it even better. His twisted approach is a breath of funny air.
