Love Cohen and his brand of humor. However this was just poorly put together. Some funny scenes without a doubt, but just didnt live up to the hype. If you are going to string a bunch of scenes together then at least have it going somewhere... sorry this was just a dissapointment.

I'm done with S Cohen after this one. Borat was great and this was the opposite. I would have asked for my money back but its not worth all the trouble. I've told most of my guy friends to avoid this one. The male frontal nudity is just out of control. Not to mention the constant, in-your-face activity... just constant. And the thing is that it wasn't funny. With Borat a lot of the scenes were funny but this just didn't strike the humor cord and I get the feeling that it wasn't supposed to. It was more or less grandstanding.

I had high expectations and was disappointed. Atleast with Borat, no one was in on the jokes like some of the people in Bruno clearly were. You're telling me Paula Abdul didn't recognize she was about to be interviewed by Sacha?! I was actually not a huge fan of Borat but I thought this movie was gut-bustingly funny. Yes, a bit of the humor was so raunchy as to 'go too far' and it is DEFINITELY not a film for the non-adult crowd (keep your teens and children at home - please). But for consenting adults it is crazy-funny. I find myself laughing at stuff from it days later. I think it also provides interesting social commentary on the nature and idiodicy of superficial Hollywood, racism and homophobia. Yes, a lot of bathroom humor but funny enough for a fun night at the movies.

There were parts of Sacha Baron Cohen's latest docu-comedy that made me smirk but none that had me guffawing or even close to rolling in the aisle. Maybe seeing Brüno in an almost completely empty auditorium had something to do with my reaction. The one other person who was there when the film began got up and walked out after the first half hour; another person did come in about fifteen minutes late and chortled on the way to his seat. There were two or three more audible guffaws before dead silence from the meager "crowd" watching the movie. Did the latecomer stay until the "bitter end," who knows?

As far as all the folks saying it was funnier than Borat, it wasn't. It does make some interesting comparisons, but it does so with shock-flick grotesqueness. Absolutely hilarious. But NO KIDS UNDER 18! I will absolutely forbid my 14 & 15-year-olds to see this movie. I can see why some folks do not care for it--lots of male nudity. Ok loved Borat, this movie is really really really BAD! Not only is it not funny, but, a 80 minute movies feels like 80 hours. It is fun to make fun of being black, white, jewishness, gayyyy, straight, rednecklac, religious etc etc... the problem is, the material is simply not funny like Borat. This movie has bad writing, bad directing, bad acting, bad humor...................just bad. Go to "hogwarts!"
