The movie very clearly sets out to push the boundaries of what is acceptable in a theatrical film, it not only pushes them but blows them away. It leaves the humor of borat far behind and shows how outrageous sacha baron cohen is and proves how intolerant much of america is. I highly recommend this to all fans of life.

Just like Borat, I feel Baron Cohen has done another good job with his social commentary on the American mindset today. I will admit the scene between him and his lover at the beginning was unnecessary and done only for shock value. But the rest of the film was utterly shocking in the extremes stage parents will go and the views of homosexuality. This land of the free is still extremely restrictive and unwilling to accept those that are different.

Lots of crazy laughs...the movie was almost over the top at times. Very funny, and shocking, and for sure it is not for anyone without an open mind. If you can't handle touchy topics, and graphic scenes...stay home. Otherwise, have a blast! Leave the kids at home, this might scar them for life.

Cohen is an AMAZING actor. He transforms himself completely into a different person, and dedicates himself to the character. However, I think this movie is more about what he could get away with, and less about exposing the homophobia and sexism in society. It is not nearly as smart as Borat, and a lot of it was just pornographic. I know Cohen could have done better, but I think he got carried away.

Bruno was good comedy for 10 minutes on the Ali G Show. It should have been left at that. Between shots of male genitalia was nothing but a boring story. In Borat, Cohen was successful in making the outrageous stunts and people seem funny, but in this movie, the interviews were painfully boring and awkward.
I went in expectin stupid comedy to an extent, but it was amplified to a point where it was unbearable. I'm amazed he would even let himself produce a movie of such poor quality.

The previews you have seen on TV are the funniest parts to the entire movie. While it does have its moments where I found it to be humorous, it had its polar opposite. This movie crossed so many lines. I understand if it was meant to be a statement about America then market the movie that way, not a "second Borat." All in all, I would rather have keyhole surgery then see this movie again. I wasted an hour and a half watching a pretend queer try to be "funny." The movie just tried too hard to "out do" Borat and the pranks were too extreme. I didn't expect to watch 60 seconds of a dick flapping on the screen either. This movie crashed and burned. Sometimes single movies like Borat need to be the only ones like it.

For those unfamiliar with the Ali G show, the premise behind movies like Bruno and Borat is to place an outrageous character into non-scripted situations with people who don't realize the character is really an actor. Do not go into this movie expecting a plot. Overall I gave it 4/5 ach ja's. Sacha Baron Cohen is a creative genius. From velcro suits to "bears eating all his clothes" plus all the hilarious interviews, it was almost nonstop laughter. The only nicht nicht about this movie was the unnecessary over the top shock factors (full screen male privates flopping about for 15 seconds is really not that funny). Don't see it with your mom/grandma, anyone that gets offended easily, or a date.

To say I was pleasantly surprised by Brüno would be a serious understatement. This film was slapstick-hilarious, politically apt, and even emotionally touching (at times. I was disappointed that Bruno had the exact same storyline as Borat. I mean, down to the extra characters/falling outs etc.
There were a lot of really outrageous/funny parts, but at the same time, it didn't wrap up nearly as well as Borat did
By the time the end credits roll, you'll feel like "really?"
Go in with low expectations, or wait for the DVD

It's rare that I enjoy a movie without any real sense of a story arch or plot, but this is a one in a million movie. Imagine the most outrageous and offensive stunts you can conceive of, and then understand that Sacha Baron Cohen is at work, and try to wrap your mind around how far that could go. You still won't approach this movie. Not for the faint of heart, but unparalleled in the laughs it evokes.

This movie has one major flaw:
1) It is not long enough.
The laughs were more intense than Borat and a bit more sophisticated. Those under 2o shouldn't see it unless they have a mature sense of humor and neither should anyone who is even mildly homophobic. Those in the first group won't get it and those in the latter will be appalled.

I loved Borat so much that I actually own the DVD. With Bruno, Cohen has actually surpassed it, taking his well deserved spot as the world's ultimate "troll." I think a lot of people won't get this movie: it's not about some guy doing crazy stuff, it's about a guy doing crazy stuff in front of people and gauging how they react. Borat played off the casual racism of Americans in big cities, Bruno plays off the casual homophobia of the American midwest, and both are great eye openers.
Remember, the real joke is that no matter how ridiculous Cohen's characters are, all the people he gets on camera honestly believes he's for real.
Oh, and FYI: Lots of male nudity in this movie. If you can't handle it, don't go.
