Borat >>>>>> Bruno. Bruno was eh. It's like those scary movies (Scary movie 1,2,3,4) you watch them and laugh but never watch the again nor recommend to friend. Borat was actually jokes and only had one disgusting yet funny scene, Bruno was more physical humor which ruined the movie. It was funny at first and had it funny parts there and then but there were more "Ew's" in the movie than in Borat. It was truly a waste of money. If you want to watch it, wait till it comes out in DVD and rent it. But you have to admit Sacha Baron Cohen is an amazing actor, through the whole movie he didn't break character even in the most disgusting scenes. I'm not saying he's a bad actor (I think he wonderful), I'm just saying the movie was kinda bad. :)

Everyone going in to this move, unless they were living under a rock for the last 2 years, should know what they are getting themselves into. Sasha Baron Cohen's brand of humor is vulgar-plain and simple. The genius of it is that by pushing the envelope so far he exposes the real feelings and bigotries of real people, be it in Borat or Bruno. In hilarious and disturbing scene after scene his fearless dedication to depravity is like a train wreck you can look away from. Some scenes are funnier and more to the point than others, and I think it misses its mark much of the time relative to Borat, but I enjoyed it.

it wasn't as good as Borat from comedic point of view. The shock value was certainly higher and in many scenes it really was a light adult movie. The best scenes were the ones in the coming attractions.

While I laughed my head off and nearly peed my pants numerous times, my overall opinion of this movie is somewhat negative. Sacha Baron Cohen went too far with some of the material in this film; the disgusting flailing phallus, racist dialogue, and offensive visual images were obscene and tasteless. While it is undoubtedly hilarious, the movie was really just TOO MUCH.

I don't understand these negative reviews. Doesn't anyone realize how smart Brüno is??? The whole movie mocks ignorant and racist people who have no business opening their mouths. Did you not see the rating of R due to graphic content? Grow up. I loved Brüno. It was outrageous and shocking and hilarious. Don't listen to the prudes who had no business going to see it in the first place. If you're openminded and are smart enough to get the humor, you'll enjoy it immensely. Unfortunately, Bruno isn't any good. It's not a case of not living up to expectations, of not being a second Borat. In fact, the only reason it gets the laughs that it does get is that we were conditioned by Borat to think Bruno should be funny. If not for that, the movie would fall even flatter. Too bad.

We loved it, and pretty much everyone in our theatre (The Grove in L.A.) was laughing out loud throughout the entire movie. I can't believe these people (this person??) below giving it bad reviews? These reviewers must have very, very tiny bedonkadonks, and even tinier brains if that's possible. Even Snoop Dog, Sting and Bono get in on the action. Bono is hilarious. Favorite scene: the talk show when he brings his little black baby O.J. to the show, and share their family pictures (Bruno taking little O.J. to the bee keepers' place, to the hot tub in Palm Springs, etc.). Even zanier than the Sandburg-Timberlake romps on SNL. Kudos to Sasha Baron Cohen! BTW, I have a larger than average (solid 9) bedonkadonk, thank you.

The movie has its funny moments, but most of the time its just overdrawn offensive and uncomfortable. Borat and Ali G were much better. I laughed pry 60% of the movie, but I would never see it again. Its that type of movie that even if you're into it, its only gonna be funny once.

There were scenes that were way less funny than I was hoping they would turn out, like the cage fighting scene, but overall I thought it was pretty hilarious, and does a good job mocking the elites it set out to mock (though the elite interviews themselves were pretty tame)

I had relatively high hopes for this film given the brilliance of Cohen's Borat. But Bruno is no Borat. The character is not likeable, sympathetic or innocent as Borat was, and the "raunch" factor was so overdone it lost any true sense of comedy. That's not to say there aren't some laugh-out-loud moments in Bruno -- the camping trip sequence was awesome -- but overall the film is just mediocire.

I thought this movie was hysterical. For those of you who thought it was a waste of time: What did you expect? Sasha Baron Cohen basically makes the same movies with different characters.
The rating even includes "vulgar nudity" so you should have seen that coming.
If gross out and shocking humor isn't your thing then don't go see it. This movie definitely isn't for everyone.

I saw this movie on opening night and paid for tickets online, so they cost me $11. I liked Borat, but Bruno was the biggest piece of garbage I've ever watched. My friend and I were sitting in the theater the entire time going, "Wait, this isn't funny at all." In the words of my friend, "The only funny part is where he falls out of the window because it's funny to watch people fall." Other than than, nothing cracked us up. HUGE waste of money and some of the scenes were really repulsive. Do not go see it.

Borat was great. I love Ali G. But this was just not as enjoyable as either. It used the same routine from the Ali G show and Borat and managed to actually be more profane than funny. If you are curious to see it like I was, at least wait until it comes out on video and save some money

I had to close my eyes through several scenes as they were just too gross for me. This guy sure does have chutzpah. The movie makes straights and non-straights alike feel very uncomfortable-- as his character is so extremely extreme. You have never seen a guy like this one. Cohen must be crazy. He loves making people feel uncomfortable.

This movie does an excellent job at pointing out both the naivete of Hollywood, and how uncomfortable we are towards the HS community (and in a way, it pokes fun at all of us). I'm not really a fan of the awkward comedy that Sacha Baron Cohen embraces, but the first half of the movie didn't have as much of that more as it simply had a non-stop barrage of outlandishly funny moments. The second half was a lot more like Borat and didn't hold up as well, but it was still really good.
Warning: if you are uncomfortable with male junk or skimpy HS men in speedos, you should sit this one out.

Although not as funny as Borat, this movie was still a laugh jerker. The whole audience was cracking up. It was an enjoyable movie. Very shocking but thats not new for Sasha Baron Cohen. I would definitly recommend this movie to anyone over 18. Everyone would enjoy this movie.

I enjoyed most of Borat. But this movie is alittle too much. And I usually think sick humor is funny. Unless your as twisted as a serial killer, lol basically, don't see this movie. Spend your 10 dollars on something more important, like a gallon of gas.

Are you guys crazy? I am very open minded and I saw and didn't mind Borat but Bruno was the BIGGEST profanity I've seen in my life and my worst spent $ 10. This was flat out nasty to say the least. They should have given people money to go see it instead of making people pay. This guy is sick and everyone that assisted him in the production and the release of this movie. I find it hard to believe that a movie like this was actually allowed in the US movie theatres - with all the other regulations in this country...this was garbage. And if you are Mexican or Middle Eastern - definately don't go see this because you WILL be offended.

I couldn't wait to watch "Bruno." Saw the 12 o'clock showing. It ended up being the most disgusting, vile, nasty and perverted movie I have ever seen. There were parts of the movie that were extremely funny. There were parts that showed how badly people act in real life when they don't know they are on camera. But, about 80% of the movie was like watching an X rated movie. Bruno throws around his junk all through-out the movie. You just sit in your seat cringing. Don't waste your time.

Do not waste your money on this movie. It was by far one of the most offensive, vile and distasteful movies of modern day time. Frankly, I'm surprised that any Middle Eastern Clerics have not called for a Fatwa on Sacha Baron Cohen.
I'm a full supporter of the First Amendment Rights BUT this goes far beyond anything that should even be considered art. The movie was disrespectful and in my opinion should have been rated NC-17 vice R.
