Looks like people can't take a joke. Cohen takes and exploits American stereotypes and it hits home. Yes, I am an American to get that out of the way. Just because it may hit home for some of the hillbillies he makes fun of doesn't mean it's not funny for the rest of civilization. Bruno is not for the lighthearted but is quite hilarious in his "attempt" to get famous by exploiting homophobia and idiotic worship toward famous people. I liked Borat better but by no means is this a slouch. You'll laugh your balls/ovaries off when he's at the focus group as well as on a hunting trip. And to the rest of you people who don't find it funny; it's because of your backward a-- culture/views of life he's making fun of...as we all are.

Despite leaving nothing to the imagination, one can't help but laugh out loud at this movie. It is designed to shock and be outrageous and it delivers. I was dissapointed that there was not more of the usual "news interview" funkyzeit with Bruno that catches the interviewees agreeing with his outrageous statements. Any fan of Baron-Cohen will love this movie even though he does not look very good in a g-string.

I was expecting something shocking, like the first time I saw Borat. What I saw was a shallow idea stretched way too far. Parts of it were funny, but parts were just disturbing. A story line was not followed like in Borat. It was a bunch of stunts that had no connection to a story line. They had a good idea for a couple of sketches and tried to turn it into a movie. FAIL!

I couldn't have been more excited for this movie. I always liked the Bruno character better than the Borat character, so I thought I was really going to love this movie.
However, the movie was very dissapointing. The movie took all the funny Borat skits from the Ali G show, but the skits were far less funny.
There were a couple times I laughed at the jokes, but most of the laughing was at the graphic scenes.
If you liked Borat, reading these reviews will probably not discourage you from seeing the movie. If anything, I will have the satisfaction of saying "I told you so."

My teens loved Borat, so we saw Bruno on opening night. The graphic scenes were SO bad that we regretted it right away. I have seen a lot of crude stuff -- some of these kids had seen Hangover. This was much much worse. When I try to even describe some of it in this review, I get blocked in submitting it for profanity. If you are considering taking teens to see this because you loved Borat, think again and go see it alone first. The only person in the movie that had a great line was Harrison Ford.

What Borat accomplished was holding a light across America's xenophobia, and highlight an exaggerated immigrants struggles. What Bruno did, was find a way to make arbitrary racist remarks and very crude jokes. Conceptually it is still brilliant, but in movies its not about potential, but the end result. It was more shock than humor, as it did not overcome to teach people about homophobia, but alas gave into the pool of coarse stereotypes and never built upon it.

If Borat pushed the envelope, then Bruno rips it to pieces. There were a few moments that I found a bit predictable but nothing could prepare me for the climax of this film. I liked Borat...and it pushed the limits, but Bruno was a disaster of bad choices, made worse by disgusting visuals. It should have been rated X, mostly so that you know what you're getting into. My review is incomplete because the projector broke, so I did not catch about 20 minutes of the movie. But from what I saw, Sacha Baron Cohen set out to make the most offensive movie ever made, and he succeeded. "Bruno" makes "Borat" look like a Disney movie. It does not single out any specific group but instead offends every single nationality, religious group, and ethnic group. The nudity and sexuality was obscene and over the top, forcing me to shield my eyes many, many times. The only thing that might drive me to see those last 20 minutes of the movie is curiosity to see how he could possibly end it. My suggestion: wait for it to come out on iTunes and go rent it and watch it alone in a closet.

This movie was just nasty. And NOT in the "wow that was nasty but so awesome that he stretched the limits of comedy". Bruno just used any possible excuse to show male genitalia which would be fine if there was a funny reason but most of the time it was just used to make the audience feel uncomfortable.

This movie had amusing parts, but overall was a disappointment. The movie followed the same plot line as Borat, but lacked the variety of humorous situations. Basically, it attempted to keep us laughing by gratuitous nudity and homoeroticism. i enjoyed Borat but Bruno was almost a waste of money. if i had not seen Hangover i might have given Bruno a 3 star but since i did see Hangover then Bruno doesnt deserve more than a 2 star.

Saw this movie on opening night and there wasn't a person in the theatre who wasn't dying laughing the entire time. Borat is great, this is an in your face graphic fu** you comedy. It operates on same principle of Borat, catching people on film and exposing people's own racism, sexism and above all homophobia. There are segments - Straight Dave's Man Slammin 'ultimate fighting' segment, where you really can't believe the crew got out alive. The segment where he shows parents of kids trying out for parts and what they would expose their kids to just to get the part! Shocking, disgusting, stomach churning - this is this movie and this is some of the worst parts of our USA. Makes you think, makes you laugh.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I think the movie was hilarious... Come on, people, what were you expecting? Did you watch the trailers? Bruno delivered exactly what he was promising... If you think he is insulting, why did you go to see it in the first place????? Making fun of stereotypes is always funny... Remember, it is not mean... if it is true...
