I thought it was funny like Borat, however, there were way too much full frontal and cheap s*x shots that ruined the movie. It could have been funnier had they not gone too far with it and just used more imagination than cheap shots. I wouldn't recommend this to my family or certain friends, that's for sure, but, if you don't get offended than this movie is for you. Also, they portrayed Alabamians as redneck and not all of us are!

Not quite as funny as BORAT, but still hilarious. While some of the material falls flat, most of it hits and is very funny. Not for the faint-hearted or prude, however. So, overall: lewd, crude, offensive, tasteless. Go see it!

I didn't think Bruno could surpass Borat, but it does. It totally makes fun and brings to light the narrow minded stereotypical good old boy, while introducing the audience to a seldom revealed side of SOME culture. Im sure some ppl will be offended; they shouldn't be, the ending song demonsrates how ridiculous predjudice is. I was surprised to see so many kids -- ages 14 there. With parents and without. It's a movie that may need explanation to the kiddies. Also surprised it got an R rating. Some almost X scenes were hysterical. I understand they changed the endng 3 times...glad they settled on the one they did.

I laughed, I shudered, I enjoyed myself. There were a few scenes that seemed forced, but overall a nice little piece of work. I think my biggest problem was I expected so much and it just didn't quite get there. I would recommend this to anybody who likes living in a blue state.

I would definitely say that Borat was a tad bit funnier. Either way, it was hysterical and I'm pretty sure I laughed about once every two minutes AT LEAST! Many moments that leave you in shock, too. Very lewd, and a lot of scenes I regret having my 17 y/o sister see with me.

I made the mistake and took my son and niece. It was vulgar. I do not recommend this movie and it should have had a rating of NC17. There were rare parts that were funny but for the most part it was do anything for a laugh and it was too far.

Anyone who has previously seen Cohen's work should should know exactly what to expect from this movie, an outrageous character who says and does over the top things while interacting with unsuspecting people, who match or exceeded his offensiveness with their racism, sexism, and homophobia. The negative reviews of this movie highlight exactly what Cohen was trying to shine a light on with this film, small minded ignorant people. There is full frontal male nudity in this movie, if that is a problem for you then do not go see it. All of Cohen's characters are essentially the same and use the same formula. If you liked Borat then you will enjoy this movie, however it is not as good simply because the idea is no longer fresh and new.

Borat was funny and played on the patronising do-gooders around the US who let their guard down. With Bruno, the whole original idea on the TV sketches was to target fickle narcissistic people (fashion etc.) But, in this film Bruno is searching for his 15 mins of fame which leads to encounters with Americans of all shapes and sizes.
Bruno does push the limits beyond anything you've seen in mainstream cinema and will have you squealling with horror and OMG moments. If you don't mind feeling discomfort then go for a twisted laugh. But it's not a family or date night film. This is the ultimate reality TV-style film. Not sure if Sasha Cohen has any more characters left after this one (Ali G, Borat and Bruno were his most notorious.)

ok- so i agree it was pretty vulgar- the movie is rate R. People should have been ready for anything. I mean the Ally g show? Borat? The commercials? People should have been prepared to see the unthinkable- lol It was funny and everyone in there should have been an adult- and for the couples walking out f the theater together- its because they felt uncomfortable watching it TOGETHER- it'll be in the DVD collection in a couple of months. It definitely had very funny moments, but I felt that Borat was funnier and had a more telling message. I think his celebrity has preceded him because it didn't feel like there were as many interviews with clueless people (don't get me wrong there were definitely some shockingly ignorant people). The whole time, I couldn't stop thinking, how did he survive this?! There were times I thought he was going to get killed!
Overall really funny and entertaining just not his best work.

Good all the way through - the pranks blended with the plot perfectly and some were so over the top I know I'll remember them forever (I'm still laughing thinking about a couple scenes - the focus group and the fortune teller...). I'm glad someone has the guts to make art like this.

This movie was really vulgar.. Thank God I didn't bring my sister to this movie, she would have thrown up. There were guests that actually left the theater one third into the movie. I won't lie, some parts were funny, but then the line would be crossed again, and it made me want to leave as well. Too much nudity, full frontal shots, and cheap shot jokes.

It has been a very long time since a movie as good as Bruno has been aired in mainstream theatres in the USA and around the world. It is an incredible social experiment that touches on a myriad of issues. For example, it touches on people's craving to fame and money and shows to what length some will go to achieve them. It also studies how people react to the unusual and uncommon, how quick some are to judge and to marginalize others and finally how in some parts of the world humor can and does bridge century-old differences.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

What a waste of money. This was the biggest piece of garbage I have ever watched. Where there funny scenes? Sure. But so many were so bad and disgusting that I really almost just walked out. The only good part of the evening was that we walked out in time to catch Hangover--now that's comedy.

I haven't seen Borat , wasnt interested in Ali G, BUT THIS MOVIE KEPT ME LAUGHING THROUGHOUT!!!!! If you have a immature sense of humor and your not a homophobic person you will enjoy this movie! The story line made sense and followed throughout. THE AUDIENCE GAVE IT A ROUND OF APPLAUSE when it was over! SO glad I saw it
