I really thought Borat was pretty stupid. Didn't mind the offensiveness as I can laugh at all stereotypes when in jest (I just don't live that way). But Bruno, in a sold out theater of predominantly non-hetero men was laugh out loud funny (and the crowd agreed) ....Humor was how far he took scenes and the visuals of them. Lots of poking fun at straight people who don't get us (like the 'convert you to straight' sequence with those pastors). 20 good laugh out loud things, plenty to re-enact & laugh at latter. The 'what parents will agree to get their kids in movies' was uncomfortable but eye opening. Bet those parents wish they could retract it. Will have to see it again. Potential cult film for narrow audience to which I must fit!

If you go to see Bruno, make sure you keep in mind that it is another movie by Sacha Baron Cohen. I think this guy is a comical genius. There are some crude parts in this movie, but it is for the shock and awe factor, and it works well. I was sitting next to an older couple during the movie. After the movie was finished I asked them how they liked it, and the response the lady gave me was "It was different". So I guess it might not really be a movie for older folks.

Absolutely hilarious movie. A bit on the risque side but completely acceptable for a young or open audience. Perhaps a bit controversial to some, yet great laughs for the many who will find those jokes hilarious!

Funny, but not worth seeing in the theater. Bruno was a hilarious segment of the Ali G show, but when you try to stretch it to a full movie, it just doesn't work. Kind of like some of those SNL skits that they made movies of. I laughed a lot, but it was pretty dumb. And way too much genitalia... since when is frontal nudity allowed in rated R films???

So many people seem offended or disappointed... Well that's too bad. If you don't get the humor then you didn't watch enough of the internet previews to make an informed decision about going to see it. I was soooo looking forward to seeing this movie, and was definately let down. There were a few funny parts, but on the whole, I felt as though I was under attack by a multitude of uncomfortable and inappropriate nude scenes. I'm afraid he took this one a bit too far, folks! I was tempted to walk out early, but I stayed through the whole thing.
I will always remember and love Borat, though!

Borat was clever and humorous. Bruno has no redeeming qualities. Unfortunately, SBC seems to have fallen into the trap of reaching desperately for a next film to keep the revenue train loaded. A waste of my $10.50.

Certainly going to see either Bruno or Borat you have to prepare yourself for the shock value humor, where you find yourself laughing but you're embarrassed that you are there. It's a cheap thrill and worth the $10 ticket, but there's no need to see it twice, and I'm glad it was only 88 minutes long.

This movie is pretty crude, which I don't mind at all and am always up for a good laugh, but the crudeness here got old pretty quick. It was like, OK, can you do something else to make me laugh now. I had really been looking forward to this movie. A few heartfelt laughs from the beginning soon were replaced by a number of forced laughs. I have to admit that my rating of this movie is based on the first 20 minutes only - I could not bare to sit through the rest of the movie. The money was lost no matter what I did, but at least I did not have to waste any more of my time. A number of people left the same time I did and I would be surprised if the rest of the people stayed till the end.

We are far from prudes - however, after only 20 minutes of Bruno, we left. We were expecting the kind of laughs we got from Borat but were extremely disappointed - too much male genitalia for sure! I'll go back to see The Hangover for second time - that is a funny movie.

Bruno is the worst movie I've seen. Borat was imaginative, novel and though gross in parts was funny. Bruno has one joke but takes it so far that it isn't funny - all male and group "activities" and toys prevail. It is shocking, gross and insulting - if our society pays and enjoys this "film" we've sunk pretty darn low. Nobody under 18 should see this thing.

As far as the movie, it was good, with many laughs overall, but I definitely liked Borat a bunch more. Some things here were uncomfortable seemingly just for the sake of being uncomfortable, with no redeeming humor or social commentary. On that latter subject, there were several things that weren't done in a funny way, but did show a dark underbelly in American society. Cohen does that well, but there was other stuff that was just childish. And it's absolutely, positively not a movie that kids should attend, and a huge amount of foolish parents had pre-teens in there. Idiots.
That being said, there were a lot of laughs. And one of the best was the lead-in to the closing credits. Priceless. The Paula Abdul interview was classic, too.

After having seen and loved Borat, we were expecting to be equally awed by Bruno. However, Bruno is not at all as funny or clever as Cohen's previous film. Thought this was even funnier than BORAT because SBC's social commentary shines through behind each seemingly outrageous stunt. This is more akin to RELIGULOUS in that respect. Being a John Waters fan, it was good to see this brand of humor back on the big screen. LOVED IT!!

This movie is not funny as one may expect it to be based on its 'R' rate. X-rate for a plain s_e_x_u_a_l content would invite the appropriated audience. No content, poor editing.
My impression is that Baron Cohen systematically and irresponsibly uses his communication skills to fool interviewees into his interviews, audience into his moves and even the MPAA it to rate them only as R. He skills would be better spent making a real movie.

one would think that bruno would know better than to ride on someone's coattails (it's D&G, after all!) - but unfortunately, it seems he doesn't. bruno lacked the depth and intellect that made borat more than just an hour and half of one grotesque moment after another. there we definitely funny moments, however i just wish cohen had realized that relying primarily on shock and awe was not enough. and as much as it pains me to say this - because i genuinely am a huge fan of cohen's work - i'd have to say bruno is very much aus.

This movie is not for the faint of heart. It is extremely over the top, and it will make you feel downright uncomfortable at times. If you are uncomfortable with full frontal male nudity or homosexuality, don't see this film. If shocking vulgarity is more up your alley, then you won't stop laughing throughout the movie.

Perhaps I expected too much. Borat is, almost certainly, the funniest movie I have ever seen. bruno? Not so much.
There were two or three scenes in the movie that were uproariously funny; however, outside of those few scenes, the movie leaves you expecting and hoping for more.
With Borat, all of the reactions seemed very natural and it was pretty obvious that it wasn't staged. With bruno, it seemed like most things were scripted and the "victims" just weren't that flummoxed like they were in Borat.
Overall, if I had it to do over again, I'd wait and see it on DVD.

Really stinkin funny and about what I expected. There are some quite outrageous scenes that would have you asking how this movie got shown in normal movie theaters. Anyway if you’re looking for a laugh and some insight on some craziness people that are out there I would recommend this movie.
