Not sure I saw the same movie as those with the negative comments. We thought it was excellent and wanted to see more. Found the acting and story great. Can see that something like this can happen. Thought provoking........ what these guys have to endure and go through, very sad. Really wonder how they deal with it all.

The movie starts out a little slow but then gets going. The character developement is great, you know them within 15 minutes of the opening credits. It shws real life and circumstances. Tobey Maguire gives an awe inapiring portrayal of a captured soldier and the torment can seem through his eyes. It is well played and very moving. It truly show some of the horrors and problems that "Our" vets are coming home with. I would definitely recommend this for those who want a complete story. If you're wanting action go see something else. Dramtically Intense and superbly acted.

Intense, is the best word to describe this film. I was moved to the core. Awesome acting will, no doubt, earn several of the cast Oscar nominations. Truly believable performances, with one of the youngest giving incredibly mature emotion, reacting to the zombie like father who returns from Afghanistan after being tortured and left for dead. Gyllenhaal, the no-good-brother is, as always, an unassuming hottie whose eyes melt makes good trying to make up for the disappointing life he's led compared to his hero brother. I loved it despite the weeping.

Brothers was terrible, acting is poor and story is not told well. The cast is strong, luring in unsuspecting fans only to be greatly disappointed and confused, wondering how this movie hit their radar. Save your money, many good movies out there to see.

Great movie that kept you intensely involved all the way through. Cast was perfectly matched and I thought the two daughters did a remarkable job of acting, especially the older one.

An all-star cast didn't bring this script alive - and I was disappointed in the result. The story has built in moments of tension, terror - but those only seem real during the war scenes. The story of the aftermath of war becomes lost and minimized even though the opportunity is RIGHT THERE for the acting! While I did get a sense of the pain, secrets and aweful truths that a soldier must deal with off the battle field, this story just didn't deliver the gut-wrenching emotion I expected.
