It was hilarious! I have not laughed out loud at the theater to a romantic comedy in a long time. Meryl Streep is amazing (as always), so is Baldwin (always a fav), and Steve Martin was surprisingly good. I love Steve Martin's comedy, but this was Martin in a different light. The cast was great and the writing was more than solid. The one who surprised me the most was Krasinski. I have only seen him in The Office and was so glad to see him not doing the same thing on this film. He was fresh, funny and on the mark! Unlike most movies I have seen at the theater recently, I was glad I went and spent the money. Well worth the trip! Wonderful!

This is absolutely the funniest movie I have seen in a long time. Meryl Streep is at her best as always. Steve Martin plays a different kind of character than his norm and was terrific. Fabulous movie for us gals and our guys. We went with two other 40-something couples, and we all loved it. This is a great date night movie for people who've been married awhile and can relate to these characters. The "R" rating was due to just a scene or two, and easily could've been PG-13. Perfectly casted, had everyone laughing out loud, so much to the point that we missed some dialogue lines so we'll be renting it when it's out on DVD!

I went to see this movie with no idea what it was about. I had not even so much as seen a preview. The irony was I am recently separated as was my date so it turned out to be a movie we could both relate to on many levels. A very good movie for people interested in real characters and situations. The trailers that are bundled with this, show what has become of the modern day romantic comedy: a couple out on a date are chased by the mob; or two former lovers meet where one is a bounty hunter for the other. That's why movies like this are so rare. Nancy Meyers knows what she's doing, understands human behavior and plays with the conventions of bedroom farce so as to examine the fantasies of a divorced woman. In this case the ride is better than the ending. This is closer to the reality I know than the reality of most movies I see, especially looking at the trailers.

He's wild about her body, wrinkles notwithstanding. As her sexuality is reborn, she effortlessly eclipses the gorgeous young second wife. Her mellow middle-aged life is seems to be irresistible to men! Meanwhile, her very well-behaved adult children are completely supportive.
OK maybe these things could happen, but her job and her extreme affluence really strain our credulity. She hardly lifts a finger running her chic gourmet bakery, and yet she is rich enough to own a luxurious 3-acre ranch in posh Santa Barbara. Now that's really a fairy tale!

This movie was great! I am divorced, and can sympathize with the more 'serious' bits of the movie that deal with the sadness and mix of emotions that go along with this type of situation. That being said, the movie was hysterical!! Streep, Baldwin and Martin play their parts flawlessly, and future son-in-law "Harley" really added quite a bit of humor to the mix!! I laughed quite a bit, and the scene with Baldwin 'surprising' Streep, posing on her bed naked? I laughed so hard, I thought I would lose my lunch!! Definitely a "must see"!!

I thought it was great, very funny. Alec Baldwin was being, well Alec Baldwin. It was very well cast. John Krasinski was perfect, Steve Martin was pretty much the straight man in this one but I didn't mind. And Meryl Streep was sublime. Maybe not a must see but if you are a fan of any of these fine actors you owe it to them and yourself.
