Best movie I had seen in a long time. Laughed from the beginning to end. Great performance from all actors, especially Meryl, Steve and Baldwin. Love the scenery! Beautiful location. I saw this movie with my husband, our 12 year old daughter and my mother. We all really enjoyed it, although my husband and daughter felt that the movie was a bit cliche, which I guess it was but so is life sometimes. The moview was hilarious and the all star cast fantastic.

This movie is enjoyable and has moments of outright laughter. The performances are solid all around, though Steve Martin is under used. Meryl Streep is very good and consistent throughout. The script is somewhat predictable, but is overall solid. What is missing is that touch of greatness. I would rate this a B to B+ movie. It is a good film and makes a good date night movie. The themes are a bit mature for a younger crowd, and not good for children, who will find this dull.

The movie was surprising in the role Steve Martin played. He played a very straight man. I had never seen him in a role like that. Alec didn't surprise me--I have seen him several times as the villian. Meryl was perfect for the role; I could see her enjoying a romp as much as the next person. We laughed throughout the movie and it was very well done.

A movie for the divorced set, of which I belong. Some clever writing, good story basis and Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin were excellent. A little too corny in places (the three kids in the bed together with Mom coming to save the day) and Alec's young wife seemed a little too hard around the edges. The scenes with Meryl and her girlfriends were on the money and very entertaining. I couldn't tell if Steve Martin was flat because his role called for him to be flat or if he was just kind of a flat actor.

Meryll Streep and Alec Baldwin surprisingly had chemistry and definitely delivered some laughs, but I wouldn't rush to go see the movie. I was distracted by the perfect, Pottery Barn/Martha Stewart decor and food, perfect kids and her silly girlfriends. I also thought Steve Martin was miscast. Overall, I would rent this movie and guaranteed you will enjoy it. But, I don't think it is worthy of the Golden Globe nominations.

As an unabashed fan of Nancy Meyer's movies, I always look forward to a new release from her. Once again, she does not disappoint - of course, when you throw in Meryl, Alec and Steve, it's hard to go wrong. Unquestionably, It is a chick flick, although my husband (who prefers to think that he isn't a fan of the genre) did admit that he enjoyed it. I don't give it a 5 star rating because, although it is funny and clever, it is short of brilliant.

I enjoyed this movie very much, these actors, "old" by Hollywood standards, did a fantastic job and it just goes to show you you don't have to be young to carry a great movie! For Meryl this was an interesting bookend to her movie Kramer v Kramer...this movie ended on a much better note though. Funny as heck, I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this...and kudos to Alec for "baring all" at his age...very bold....

In this Chick Flick about a "reverse love affair," Merryl Streep has a few too many drinks with her ex, Alec Baldwin, at her son's graduation and sleeps with him. Their torrid evening romance leaves Baldwin wanting for more and Streep guilty about being the "other woman." Steve Martin, Streep's architect, develops a romantic interest in her while she gets consumed with guilt and agonizes over Baldwin's advances. Streep and Baldwin sneak around so the kids don't find out. But they eventually do and it all comes to a boil. It's Complicated. Baldwin steals the show with his coolness and antics. Martin is subdued and almost humorless. Streep's many emotional scenes reveal her incredible believability and her versatility.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

ThIs was a really nice movie on Christmas and I left the theatre smiling! I went with my sister, her family and my kids (ages 22-26). We all liked the movie and I was really glad it had a happy ending. Streep was priceless along with her gal pals! Liked the way the movie ended and for the naysayers who didn't believe the plot was realistic enough, not all of us like to go to the show and leave feeling like we need to be on a suicide watch! Wish there were more shows like this.

I loved seeing Meryl (and Alec & Steve Martin) in this light-hearted movie! There were several parts of the movie that were hilarious and others that were quite touching.
