The absolute worst acting and film production I have ever witnessed. How in the name of God, would anyone let this film be made? It's almost as if the writers and directors sat in a room thinking about how to make the worst movie ever made in every single aspect. Thoughts of suicide permeated into my conscience 15 minutes into the movie. I beg of you to save your money and your time. This movie is a disgrace to the film making industry. I wish I could rate -10 stars.

This was not a great movie--in fact---probably one of the not so good ones out now---but there were really hidden meanings and yes it was reminescent of the Twilight Zone TV shows. The movie was disjointed and not connected in the plot---forces of good and evil were noticeable throughout. Ms Diaz was not very authentic with her fake southern accent---I expected more from her..

If you're familiar with Richard Kelly films then you won't be as shocked by the turn of events in this movie. Not your typical American suspense film. It was sort of strange experiencing Cameron Diaz with a country accent, but it didn't take away from the movie.

OK so this movie is very strange and I'm positive it's nothing like what people think they're going to be attending when they see the preview. However, you have to understand that's it based off an old Twilight Zone episode. Those were some of the weirdest shows on the planet. The movie sticks to this type of flavor very well and for fellow TZ lovers it was neat. However, like I said, it's nothing like the previews and is very sci fi. Quite a few plot holes as well.

The only reason I gave it 1 star is that the web site wouldn't allow zero stars. This movie might have made for a good "Twilight Zone" or "X-Files" episode, but as a movie it stunk. The plot moves slower than Dallas traffic at rush hour and I actually started to fall asleep. Save your money - this one will be on the SyFy channel as the B movie of the week before you know it.

We saw the movie last night and are both wondering what the heck. Most sci-fi movies keep you wondering, but my only wonder is how this flick made it to the theatres and not straight to the Sci-Fi channel. This movie was like others in the past, a great plot but poorly executed. I could see this being a super “at the edge of your seat” suspense, but it left us with a lot of loose ends. I don’t know where to start, other than for you to save your money and yourself. I can’t give it less than one star, so the one star has to be for the cool vehicles. It was like stepping back in time to see the old Torinos and muscle cars.

Sadly, this turns out to be 1 of those films that, in the hands of a competent director, could have been very good, if not great. director richard kelly made a cult classic with his first film- donnie darko- a brilliant movie- so coming into this film i had high hopes but i was a little weary- the original twilight zone episode that this film came from was called button, button- the whole thing took place in a small apartment- short simple and effective- this film got so twisted in 2 hours you just couldnt keep up with it- now by the end many things were explained- but still there were key factors to the plot that were touched and left- seeing the end made me feel like he was rushing to get there so he could show you this crazy climax- sure- he did- but there were just to many holes for me- im being nice with 2 stars- richard is kinda new- theres still hope

Save your money. The concept is more interesting than the movie. If you like a 1970's setting and feel like you just watched a movie while on acid or something go ahead. How do you know when your career is on it's way out ? When you co-star in a movie with Cameron Diaz . Her acting was just above that of a skin flick star without the visual appeal. The Box left me wondering what I had been watching for 2 hours. I didn't believe the relationship between Diaz and Marsden ... and I strained to watch it. And, although distracting, it isn't the film's biggest hurdle. We're just innundated with information - and then it's processed for us in a way that left me shaking my head. I couldn't identify what this movie wanted to be - a conspiracy theory, aliens offering us salvation from ourselves, science fiction, a love story, a tragedy or some form of all of the above. Some of the plot twists and special effects seem to be thrown at us only because Hollywood is capable of producing them. I found the story non-cohesive and frustrating.

This film is part sci-fi, psychological thriller, and moral dilema. The pacing is slow but kept my wife and I intrigued the whole way through. At times It felt like a Lynch (David) meets the Twilight Zone film.
Cameron Diaz played a role I've never seen her do and I thought she pulled it off well, didn't even seem like the same person.
If you liked Donnie Darko and films that make you think and are suspenseful chances are you'll be entertained by this. If you don't like films that are different and are an impatient person chances are you won't like this.

This movie goes to the top of all time worse movies ever seen!! Badlands from the early 80's was bad but it makes that movie semi good. DO NOT WASTE TIME OF MONEY, I wish I could get our Money back!!

This was a slow, boring, meaningless movie. There was no plot. It was a waste of time and money. This one shouldn't even be allowed on DVD. No stars for this one.
