The movie was great! But it is very hard to understand! My brothers had no clue what was going on.. I think this movie is not for kids under the age of 12.. Not because it is bad or anything but because it is hard to understand!

The best way I can put it is that this movies was very strange. I couldn’t decide if the movie wanted to be an overly long episode of the Twilight Zone, or if it wanted to be a clever horror film. I think that this since of confusion is what really destroyed the film. The acting was not very good for the caliber of actors who were it. Don’t waste your money on a ticket for this one; rent it when you’re bored at the dollar movie rental.

The only thing I don't understand about 'The Box' is why so many people didn't like it. If you pay attention and can put two and two together, it's not hard to figure out. While it does answer most of the questions it raises, some are left to your interpretation, such as whether the box was controlled by humans, aliens, or some deity. This movie has period accuracy, suspense, intrigue, special effects, eeriness, action, drama, and moral and biblical implications. It held my interest throughout, as I tried to figure out what would happen next. Perhaps the people that didn't like it were looking for a standard horror film. It's not that, but I enjoyed it immensely!

couldve been good. but was horrible in the timing, in the nonesensical plots, no explanation at all, tried to hard with all the 70s referrences...tv shows, etc
no continuity, not interesting, boring, ending was horrible.

I thought that like most people who saw this movie, the acting was not perfect, and the storyline could have been better, but at the same time you cannot really blame Cameron Diaz or James Marsden because they were not really given much to work with. I also agree too that the movie started off fine, but once they got further into the movie, it just started to get really wierd, for example, when everyone around them was turning into a zombie-like state, and just staring at them the whole time. I also thought that there was going to be a lot more action, when there was not, and the most action that was in the film did not happen until the very end. I would not recommend this movie to anyone that I know.

This movie reminds me of the excitement I had when I saw "The Sixth Sense" for the first time. "The Box" is an absolute triumph, and one of the best movies I have seen in a LONG time! The titles are reminiscent of David Lynch and the "Cremaster" cycle, the music choices are uber-creepy, and for fans of the 70's, there are so many choice homage moments, it'll make you cry.
But the best thing about "The Box" is that there is a secret, and it is NOT what you expect, and alot of room is left for audience interpretation.
I feel that Richard Kelly, like Wes and P.T. Anderson and Spike Jonze, is a visionary director, with an amazing eye for detail. If you're a fan of quality cinema, DO NOT MISS THIS MOVIE!

Weak acting and a lame and unbelievable storyline make "The Box" a laughable romp into WTF-land. With what started out as a somewhat interesting premise, the movie quickly unravels into a bizarre series of events that leaves the audience members shaking their heads. I haven't been to many horror movies that leave people laughing, but this one is one of the few. Save your money - even on a rental. This one is more than bizarre; it's just plain bad.
