A good movie in the vein of Freaky Friday, 13 going on 30, and Back to the Future. Efron and Thomas Lennon MADE the film worthwhile. Interestingly enough, the theater was about 90% Efron fans, all ages (and gender). Few were disappointed.
It definitely earned it's PG-13 rating, which made it a bit more for adults than for teens. I'd recommend it to a friend for sure -- anyone with a curiosity in or an affection for Zac Efron. Anyone else, I'd say spend your money elsewhere.

17 Again was a very funny movie. I am pleasantly suprised that Zac Efron was able to carry this movie so well; he really is much more than just a Disney star; he has a bright future. The supporting cast is amazing as well. If you are looking for a good family movie with some really laugh out loud moments then I suggest giving this film a try.

The movie was better than I expected. It's such a familiar story but the cast was good and there were a few laughs to be had. I thought Zac Efron did a great job channeling Matthew Perry. He had his mannerisms down back and often spoke his lines just the way Matthew would have. It really helped me remember he was supposed to be the younger version of the same character.

Very funny indeed. An unbelievable premise of being re-transformed into your youth in present day but, that's the beauty of movies. What IF you could be your 17 self again, right now? Oh, what hilarity ensues! This movie does go through all the things you expect and want it to: how would he interact in the same high school with his son and daughter as colleagues? And of course, his wife! Unlike, Fired Up and other teen comedies, this one's characters and the way they behave is actually realistic and truthful ....unfortunate in some cases (teen girls lacking self-respect for the sake of being with a guy)! It was a cute fantasy movie that plays into the wish we all have to go back and try to do it differently. The science fiction storyline and related jokes was a stupid waste of time and the only bad thing about the movie. I am far older than the target audience but still understood why the teenage girls like him. Not for the under 15 set.

Zak Efron can definitely carry a movie. Familiar story but had some twists. Great supporting cast keeps you enteratined. Story flowed and didn't bogg down. Story is about realizing what is important and following your heart and trying to do right by your wife and kids. Some very funny, subtle jokes meant for the parents taking their 12 year old daughters to this movie. Leslie Mann is gorgeous and has some very funny scenes with Zac. The interaction between Thomas Lennon and Michelle Trachtenberg almost steals this movie. It will not win an oscar but it will make you smile and young girls who love High School Musical will LOVE it.

This movie was clever. Zac is attractive and talented. Other characters were fine. The theatre was packed with Zac's fans from HSM I, II and III. Its a shame that Mr. Efron and the producers have so little regard for this audience, however. There were several bad jokes, innuendos and story lines that were absolutely inappropriate for this particular audience. As much as Mr. Efron wants to smash the Disney-mold and break out as an adult leading man, he has lost my respect for showing such disrespect for the tweens and teenagers that he must have known would still be the majority of his audience.

This movie is all about Zac Efron and he did a great job with what he was working with. Actually, I think he's a much better actor than this tween movie would indicate and hopefully he starts moving into more serious roles.
As for the movie, everything, and I mean everything was quite contrived. Further, it's certainly not the most encouraging message for our children to be encouraged to give up their dreams, education and future earning potential to become teenage parents with the hope that everything will be okay with love; but, it's a movie and there were some very good messages about abstinence as well. Overall, the movie was just OK.

Going to see this movie was initially just an excuse to go gaze longingly at a screen full of Zac Efron... I wound up getting much more than I'd hoped for. The plot's been done a million times, sure, but I honestly never laughed as much at any of the others. A big fan of Matthew Perry's comedic delivery, I found it highly entertaining that Efron (as the 17 year-old Perry) managed to emulate so many of his mannerisms and expressions. Efron as the teenage Perry was actually believable. Also, the best friend was ridiculous, and if you like over-the-top stupid humor, he's worth several good laughs. Overall, I really liked it, I'd absolutely see it again... will likely buy it on DVD later. Go see it!

I am a single dad, of the age of 53 and my daughter 18 years of age. She wanted to go to this movie and I said yes I would take her to the move and dinner. To tell the truth I am not always excited to go to these movies my daughter suggests but this one was different. Took my daughter to see this - she is a big fan of Zac Efron. She enjoyed it and so did I. There were a few awkward moments in it, but overall it was funny and entertaining. Matthew Perry is funny as always and Zac does a good job portraying him. Good movie.

This is going to be the best movie of 2009. I didn't expect it to be as funny as it was, I didnt even want to see the movie my daughter wanted to go. I am so glad I went it was sooo funny the whole theater was laughing the whole time. Its a great movie I would tell everyone to go see. Zac Efron did a great job.

I thought this was the best movie zac efron has ever been in. It had great acting, an overall good story, and was very funny. I think a lot of people would enjoy this movie because it is very funny and entertaining. I think its the best movie ever.

Its rated PG-13 for a reason. Its cute for the tween set. I brought 2 13 year old girls to this movie and they adored it. Some of the content was mature but I've seen worse in sitcoms airing at 8 pm at night. Probably inappropriete for anyone under 13..hence the rating PG-13.
