Took my 12-year-old daughter to this movie and frankly wasn't looking forward to it. Was very pleasantly surprised! Efron did a great job and is clearly going to be a formidable actor as he ages and grows. The only down side was Matthew Perry. His part should have been played by someone else. Overall a very good effort.

What a fun movie. The acting was great. When Zach was fighting off his daughter I laughed so hard. We had taken our 9 year old grandchild and was a little concerned about the content before we saw it but no fear. Zach was the perfect choice to play Matthew Perry as a teen. I wasn't sure what to expect. I am 50 years old and a mom to 22 and 23 year old daughters> It was nice to see Matthew Perry and I thought Zac Efron was very cute. If I were a teen ager his posters would be on my wall. It was a funny movie and the best friend was so funny. I loved the pursuit of the Principal. It was a good movie and I probably would take my daughters if they were interested. Its nice to laugh at this time in our lives.

I saw this movie on April 14th at the world premiere in Hollywood, CA and it was such an amazing movie. It was a very funny movie and has such talented actors. I'm not surprised by Zac Efron's acting skills but he did a great job in this movie. It was nice to finally see him in a movie in which he wasn't singing. I recommend this to everyone.

As a mom experiencing the movie with my teenage daughters, I was very surprised at how touching and yet hysterical this movie was. Of course, Zac Efron is adorable ("hot" according to my girls) but the supporting cast is superb. Thomas Lennon steals the show as the very strange best friend. Overall, it was a great experience. A word to parents with young children, don't take them to see this movie!! I saw several moms leaving early into the movie due to content.

I was expecting a mostly teen-oriented movie, but it really does speak well to over-30 adults. The audience was mostly composed of teenage girls, Twittering and giggling whenever Zac Efron exposed an ab; but that made for a happy, enthusiastic audience.

I brought my 11 year old daughter and 4 of her friends to this a few weeks ago. Heading into the theater I was fully expecting a little "nap time for dad", but from the beginning the movie did a wonderful job of keeping me engaged. I found myself laughing minutes into the movie and that continued to the end. Definitely worth the trip to the theater.

We took the kids expecting a "bubble gum" movie with cutie zac efron. We enjoyed it more than the kids! The one liners and 80s references were extremely funny. Some of the references were geared more for teenagers than young kids but not really too bad. I would see this one again!

Overall this was a good movie; I'd give it a B+. It had a few scenes that were definitely for mature audiences (or as a parent, you'd have some explaining to do). I never take my girls to see a movie until after it has been out for at least a week, That way, I can read the reviews and know what to expect. The rating system hit this one right on the head. The scene where he dumped her because of no chow-chow, is real life. A teen's hormones are all over the place, and most guys will move around until they find someone that will give them what they want. It's the real world, and has been that way since I was a teen - 30 years ago..

I went to see this expecting little as this has been done many times before, but I enjoyed the spin they did on this movie. I don't follow the young actors all though my kids do, but I am glad to see Matthew Perry in something even for a short time, and I just think Leslie Mann is cut out for a lot more than her husbands films, so would like to see her in more. Zac Efron could be something a lot more, he is a charming guy, and doesn't come off as arrogant on the screen. He is a young guy and age will catch up to him oneday, but the right guidance and he could go places. I liked the story and I recommend this for the whole family.

Three mothers took their three 11 year old daughters to 17 Again. For the most part it was a nice movie but two scenes were a bit mature and unexpected. One involved the distribution of condoms and the other about a boy dumping a girl because she didn't put out. Not sure I would call this a family movie.

Watched it with my 11 and 14 years old sons...they enjoyed it quite much, and were not bothered by some "uneasy" scenes... It is so much better than some freaky movies they are exposed to so often. I am glad we saw it all together.

I went with a friend and our husbands (we're in our 40's and have gone through the HSM phase with our kids). My friend and I found Zac irresistable, but were both uncomfortable with the twist of watching an older woman attracted to an underage teen (even though she didn't want to be). I suppose if his character were supposed to be 19 or 20 it wouldn't have felt so "Lolita-like." The writing was not tight enough however, it needed to move more quickly.
I don't think kids under 13 should see it. There is a lot of talk of promiscuity and some very bad language. Also the mom/teen age boy thing is just a little weird for young kids to understand. My 10 year old would have totally reacted to that part of it.

I went to see this with my 13 year old daughter. She will see anything with Zac Effron. I didn't think I would enjoy it, but it was funny and said some things about what is really important in life. The cast was very good especially Zac Effron and Matthew Perry as the young/older main character. Some might object to some of the teen situations and behavior for younger children, but all in all, very entertaining.

It is so rare to see a PG-13 movie that actually sets out to teach a valuable moral lesson, and has you laughing all the way. Zac Efron has really come a long way as an actor, and was very believable. Some references to teenage promiscuity, including passing out condoms in health class, but short-lived.

We took our 14 year old to this movie and laughed like nothing else. We had a great time. The characters in the movie were highly likeable and believable in their roles. The only negative was that there were references teenage relationship stuff... so may not want to take younger pre-teens. But it was fairly short lived in the movie. We continued to laugh about the movie all the way home. It was a nice afternoon with our son! Can Hollywood please make more movies like this! We loved it and we haven't said that in quite a while ! Thanks

Wonderful movie!!! I giggled and laughed throught the entire movie! My 10 year old loved it too .... it was not even close to being inappropriate for her! Hands down a great movie for the family!
