I felt this was an excellent movie. I really admire Korean star Rain. I have been a fan of his for some time. Great to see him here in America. I look for him and other Korean stars to start filtering into the American music charts and Hollywood. These are some of the best actors and actress going. It was also great to see a black actress getting saved by the main character this time and that she was not a street girl or strung out on drugs or some mental situation. I hope that in the future, the public will embrace more films that have diverse characteers of diverse backgrounds and race.ie..Ong Bak... Great action! Great EFX. I will have this in my collection when it comes out on DVD. Behind the scenes must be awesome. Rain Reigns!!!!

Before this movie came out in theatres I saw the trailer for it and it didnt show much of the action, I was sooo hoping to have it be an all out ninja decapitation fest- in which it purely was. I liked every second of it, but laughed at some parts of the acting because in certain scenes, it was just goofy. Overall, this movie was fantastic, I wanted a limbs flying everywhere and blood spurting action movie, and that is exactly what I got. Thanks James McTeigue. Also thought it was really funny that they got a Korean pop singer to play in this movie, saw the trailer in summer of 09 in Taiwan with some people who live there, they flipped out over him because they are huge fans of his, he was actually decent though.

Ninja Assassin is a thrill a minuet. It starts off strong and pretty much keeps it going the entire time. It is a rockin butt kickin good time. Loved how the assassins descended on the scene with whispers and shadows. And how relentless they displayed they're focus on getting their prey. Although some of the flashbacks (there were many) slightly confused my 14 yr. old, I liked how they told the story of the early trainings of the assassins. Overall, my son woke up still talking about the movie after seeing it the night before; thanking me for taking him and enjoying the time we spent together.. PRICELESS!!

I loved the way they put the movie together with the flashbacks and the present time, to give you a little of the current mood of the main character, and how he became who he is. And the fighting scenes, got my adrenaline pumping and also got me sitting on the edge of my seat, haha. Another reason why I liked the movie is because the cast didn't really have much of a "famous" actors because I've already seen what other celebrities can do, but the cast that they got for this movie, was pretty unique, and gave off a distinct mood which kept me watching. Other than that, I would definately tell friends and family to watch the movie!

Not really much of a story, what did you expect with a tittle like that. But delivered in all other departments. Amazing fight scenes, some of the best. The effects ranged from yawn to spectacular. Blood, buckets of digital blood! The ninja finally gets his respect on the big screen. If they can top the fight scenes bring me a sequel.

I absolutely loved Ninja Assassin. I was amazed by Rain's acting skills. I assumed that he was only a great singer/dancer, but I was very impressed and I can guarantee that nobody will regret watching this film! I needed a good Kung-Fu flic in my life. It had been missing for so long! And Ninja Assassin did the trick. There were so many bloody bodies falling in this movie that it even took me back to the classic samurai picture Shogun Assassin.
The story in Ninja Assassin is pretty simple but with complex fight scenes. And with an Asian hero and an African-American leading lady, you KNOW I liked the casting!
I think I worked off that Thanksgiving dinner just by watching this action packed spectacular!

A modern homage to the violent loner martial arts movies of yore. Think Enter The Dragon meets Kill Bill. Would have liked a bit more slo-mo in some of the fight scenes just to savor the ballet of movement. Having said that I enjoyed the fight scenes and most of the ninja battles. Some of the camera work and stylizing was original and had a unique flair. Very violent. Not for kids. If you feel a bit starved for a decent martial arts flick this may well keep you from starvation. I want to see more of Rain in a more complex martial arts movie.

I expected ton of action and I got plenty of it. I usually don't expect too much out of the story in this sort of the movie but the story turned out quite alright too. The movie did a superb job of portraying the difficulties and requirements needed to become a ninja. This movie reminded me of Kill Bill a lot while I was watching the action sequences. For those people who didn't enjoy this movie probably didn't pay too much attention to the title of the movie... It's called Ninja Assassin for a reason and I thought it was very well made. Don't listen to the critics and go watch the movie. I have already watched this movie 3 times in the movie theater and now I am waiting on the Blu-Ray release... it's that awesome!

I liked this movie a lot. The action was good and there was a lot of it. If you like high paced karate-themed movies go see this!!! The story however could use some work but who cares when people's faces and limbs are being chopped off?

This is a no nonsense martial arts flick. No comedy. Light on romance. Heavy on sword and knife fighting with blood splashing and slicing of of body parts. It's gory. The fighting is very fast, sometimes in the dark, with sparse lighting, so keep your eyes open. The fighting is part chinese whip chain, part knife fighting, part sword fighting. These's even a bit of parcor (sp?) All super fast some over the top effects in the fighting towards the end, but nowhere near the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon level.

This movie reminded me of the Kill Bill movie in which I am not a great fan to that Kill Bill movie. The action was great, however, it was so close and fast to where you couldn't really get into the fighting. When he was fighting the Ninja master, it was at a distance to where you could really see the moves and get into the fighting. Last but not least. Too much fake blood gushing out of people. We don't have that many main arteries for that much blood gush like that.

First, this is not a movie for kids. However I really enjoyed the story line, action, a little comedy, romantic undertones and Rain is soo sexy. There was a little too much blood for my taste, so my eyes were closed on those parts. I will say, other than that I was literally on the edge of my seat. I have already recommended it to my ADULT friends that love action flicks. Awesome! Oh, and you know there will be a sequel!

I'm 49. I've seen thousands of movies. I enjoy Martial Arts films (especially those from the golden age of the Shaw Brothers).
But in the first 2 minutes of this thing, you see the most horrible, gratuitous, CGI effects that I've EVER seen. This movie should have been NC-17. DO NOT take kids to this. The R rating is being kind.
After word gets out about how bad this was - this will be the new Caligula (which was the last movie I walked out of - 30 years ago)

Very enjoyable action flick! Loaded with action and great fight scenes. The only drawback is the dark backgrounds and scenes. Most of the movie is shot at night and the darkness mask a lot of the action. My bottom line, my wife enjoyed it and she doesn't like most action flicks.
