I've been going to kids movies for a long time with kids from 18-8,and they just seem to be getting worse. This movie really stinks with its plot and overall acting. My 8 year daughter would usually be very talkative and giddy after seeing a film,but there was hardly a peep on the way home!

I enjoyed the first one much better although there were some cute and funny parts, time dragged slowly for me. However, my 7 and 6 year old loved it and I definitely recommend it as a family outing!

Being a fan of the Chipmunk movies from childhood it was quite refreshing to see the first new movie a few years ago. So when this one was announced I was very excited. But not nearly as much as my 8 year old son who had been singing the tunes from the commercials since he first saw the first one. After seeing the movie I was not disappointed at all in the story or the affects. I found my self laughing as much as he was.

My daughter (age 5) was dancing in the aisles from beginning to end. We had a nice time and it was actually kid appropriate (not too much adult contented scenes/language that children movies have been bombarded with lately). The chipmunks were cute as usual and the chippettes can really sing. A must see for parents and their children. Definitely family fun!

Those who enjoyed Alvin the first go round can expect to enjoy the squeakquel, but it just doesn't quite measure up. There are moments of hilarity, but these are sparse. I believe kids between the ages of 5 and 12 won't be disappointed. Adults won't miss anything if they'd like to return to the concessions for refills.

Seriously. This is quite possibly the worst movie I have ever had to endure. I took my two children to see it -- an hour and a half of my life that I'll never get back. There wasn't a single laugh in the entire house. Poor Jason Lee looked apologetic that he was even in the movie for the limited time he was. The first Alvin movie was cute, and had a lot of soul. It was endearing and fun. Jason Lee added to the charm of the movie.
The "Squeakquel"... not so much. And Jason Lee must have been unavailable for most of the shooting days! He is not in it much. And because of that, the movie suffers.
The Chipmunks are cute and so are the newly added "Chipettes". Just don't expect much of a departure from the first movie. It almost feels like the same movie... just not as heartfelt.
The kids will find some of it funny... and, you can take a nice NAP while they watch!

My children are getting old enough (10 and 13) that they turn up their noses at many of the kid movies, but they love the chipmunks! I thought this movie was better than the first chipmunks movie (read: more tolerable for adults). I even laughed a few times. My children thought it was great!

I am usually a sucker for talking animals, so this kind of film entertains me. This film was engaging enough for my 3.5 year old, who sat through the whole thing (a first in a movie theater). The music is recognizable and that helps to keep the older kids & adults engaged, while I'm sure my son was mesmerized by the acrobatics of the little rodents. It was innocuous and amusing, but I must say, I would have preferred to wait for the 2nd run movie theater - not worth the $20 I spent - I think only the Disneys and Pixars are, generally. WARNING: If you think that Beyonce's "Single Ladies" gets stuck in your head when she does it, wait until you hear the rendition done by the Chippettes. I cannot get that horror out of my head!

I'd recommend this movie for anyone with kids of any age. My 5 grandkids range in age from 6 to 10, boys and girls, and all of them loved this movie. Like the original, it was cute without being sappy, and there's just enough sassiness to keep the kids laughing.

Just funny enough for the kids to giggle in a few places and enjoy the chipmunks' winning the prize. Just cute enough for parents to avoid running down the aisle screaming "Stop the chipmunk squeaking already." The review title above is heard at least 60 times (seemed like it anyway).

Alvin And The Chipmucks The SQUEAKQUEL was really funny.It was cool to see The Chipmucks vs. The Chipets.At the end they all became friends and sang for the show to raise 25,000 to keep their music class,but there was a little truble on the way.The Chipmucks had to go to school which is when the Chipmucks met the Chipets. In the movie Alvin was being a not nice ,but Alvin was still really really funny in the movie, like always.
