We took our 4 year-old to see this movie and he absolutely loved it! The Chipmunks are as fun as the first movie, but the story isn't quite as good. Not enough Dave Seville in this one. However, like I said, the kids (and I mean ALL the kids in the theater) were glued to it and laughing all the time. If you have kids, go see it. If you don't, it's not for you, trust me!

I did not go to the theater. My wife watched the movie with my kid and a friend's kid. All of the said that it is a great movie. Even after the show, two kids tried to search the part I of the movie as they did not watch the part 1 before.

I think the movie would be a good first date movie for those in jr High and High school and most defiantly perfect for taking out the kids and Grand kids. I took my 6 yr old daughter to see it yesterday and we had a great time. She laughed and pointed thingso ut in the movie that were educational (the 3 female chipmunks matched to the 3 male chipmunks by their clothes). I personally enjoyed the song the guy sang to the lady he had a crush on for many years..Real cute and made me want to reconcile with my daughters mother..lol...ok lets get back to the review..lol..worth checking out or renting (depends on your financial position)

Just like the original, Alvin and the Chipmunks are adorable. The addition of the Chippettes made it twice as adorable. The storyline was engrossing enough for old and young alike, and the humor was not nearly as banal as I was afraid it might be. The only weak point was in the character of Toby--he wasn't as well-developed as I expected. There appeared to be some attempt at developing his character, but it fell flat. Still, my children were pleased as punch with the entire film. They can't wait for it to come out on DVD so they can get their own copy to watch over and over.

I was pleasantly surprised. I am tired of movies for kids including inappropriate behavior and language, and with the 'Chipettes' singing songs I will not let my children listen to, I was afraid what I would see from the costumes to the dance moves. I found the movie very appropriate for my four year olds all the way up to my 10 year old. They all enjoyed the movie. It is possible for kids to find clean humor funny. There seem to be so few movies I find appropriate for my kids these days....they are kids!! I was thrilled at the end when there was no kiss....it was a very appropriate hug between 2 characters

This Chipmunks movie was very bad. Jason Lee is rarely seen and we spent a lot of time with David Cross's character Ian as well as cousin Toby. Toby was a terrible role model who in the end one hopes will redeem himself - but there is no evidence that he will. Ian is not only hard to watch but hard to listen to - he says things like "this sucks" a lot. Even the kids did not seem very amused by it. Not to mention the cinematography and lighting was terrible.

There is so little that is fun or entertaining in this movie that it is insulting. The chipmunks are cute but spend the movie being abused by humans. Why does anyone making a "Childrens movie" spend an hour plus showing the worst bullies of humanity. Forget kinder & gentler- if you want to teach your children to be cruel and abusive use this as a training session. Oh and there is very little if any "Chipmunk" music, although I do like Beyonce her 5 minutes was the only piece any child should watch. I hope my Godson is not scarred for life by the precious time we wasted! It was his first movie. Another triumph for how Americans should NOT be perceived around the world! I do not know what movie those other people were watching.

I took my grandkids age 6, 7 and 12 and they all loved it. I laughed and even got a tear in one of the parts. A very funny family style movie that had a good message about the importance of putting family first and not always thinking of oneself.

A delight to watch...our grandaughters and ourselves absolutely loved the movie!the soundtrack is played nonstop in our home,i highly recommend this movie.
