Took the nieces and nephew last night. They are 12, 11, and 8. They all LOVED the movie. They laughed at all the funny parts, and sang along with a bunch of the songs.
For adults, it's quite silly but has a few jokes that we got that the younger kids didn't, which is nice. The story is predictable but kids don't care about that. And it was cool to see Zach Levi and Wendy Malick where I didn't expect them.
Overall a good time was had by all :)

Ugh... where do I begin?? Let's start with the only positive: The characters were ADORABLE. They spared no expense on making them as cute as can be, leading us to fall completely in love with the chipmunks and chipettes. Now for the negatives: The plot was completely stupid and the movie was full of idiotic gags that were so dumb, my 5-year-old looked at me and said how lame it was. And she LOVED the first movie. The thing is, it had the makings of a really great movie, but they dumbed it down SO much, it became just another cr4ppy sequel. And there was hardly any good songs in it. They started several songs, but never got past the first few lines. They barely did any full numbers. Total disappointment!

Good movie for kids-kept a 5 year old's attention very well. I thought the script was a little overdone, e.g. they tried to throw too much in the pot (plot) at the same time. The Chipettes were a cute addition.

We went the grandma's and grandson age 5 together and had a great time. You laugh most of the movie and the helicopter scene is a great part in the movie. Our child was not bored which is no small task as he is a movie kid.

The kids loved this movie. We have 3 - ages 7, 5 and nearly 3 - and they all throughly enjoyed it. They danced to the music and laughed at the cheap jokes. As soon as we left the theater, my 7 year old asked me when we could buy the DVD.
As an adult, it was tough to sit through. Even in kid movies I usually like to watch the whole film but this time I got up and went for the free refill on the popcorn. Twice.
I can't compare it to the first Chipmunks film as my 3 year old was only 1 then so I was out in the lobby for most of that movie. But I've never had an urge to go back and see what I missed so take that for what its worth. My guess is if you or your kids liked the first one, you'll love the second one too.

The chipmunks as always allowed me to return to my childhood. The plot of this film was cute but a bit cheesy. The when I learned that they brought back David Cross I was a bit hesitant as his character annoyed the heck out of me in number one but I was all worth it to see him at the end! It was a great movie for all ages and I encourage you to see it whether you have kids or not. Make sure you see the first one first though or parts of the film wont make sense.
