Iron Man 2 picks up right where the original left off -- so much so, that the two could almost be one, long movie. That's not to say it's not a stand alone movie, it definitely is -- and it has none of the Second Movie syndrome that "X-Men 2" or "The Two Towers" had. This was a solid action movie, with good performances all around -- including the villains, Mickey Rourke muttering in Russian and Sam Rockwell as the industrialist Justin hammer. Fun and fast-paced, although the movie is at its best when Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark, and not when he's Iron Man.
Not just for comic book fans. And stay all the way through the credits...

Very Good sequel to IRONMAN! Died in the middle when the good guys were fighting after Robert Downey Jr got drunk - they could edit out that section completely without loss of plot. RAVE Motion pictures bought Multiplex in VA and the theater volume was excessively loud...action movies are inherently loud and the new theater owners need understand that...turn it down below 150db!

Good movie. I did not see the first movie, however a lot of people in the theater said it wasn't quite as good as the first. That being said, I was alittle put off at first by the ego of the Iron Man character...until I realized that the ego WAS what made the character interesting. I thought the casting was great, and the storyline was very good. There is a lot of action so that was great, plus I loved the scenes before the senate committee, they were great! I definitely do recommend seeing it! I thought the ending was perfect.

Main Character was a little too much to take at start. I suppose they overexagerrated his self ego but it was just too weird. Sound track was way too loud for a small theatre and made it hard to enjoy the movie. Requested twice to turn it down to no avail. The special effects in the movie were great.

RDJ is superb as Ironman, what can you say? Personally, I liked the first Ironman movie better, but with that said, this is still a very good, intense, full-of-action movie. Great acting by all involved. Interesting to see new roles developed by Mickey Rourke, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson. I have to admit, I liked Terrence Williams better in his role; he was a better fit for the part! Worth seeing at LEAST once!

Iron Man 2 was a solid action film. Robert Downey Jr. did a fantastic job once again as Tony Stark/Iron Man, injecting a humorous quality into his character that made him so enjoyable to watch. Don Cheadle was excellent as the confliction his character had between his loyalty to the government and his best friend came shining through. Sam Rockwell's performance was good, although I think a little reserved.
I wish we could have seen more of Mickey Rourke. His motivation in destroying Stark was understandable but we saw little of him except in a few key moments...and he was the bad guy! The ending face-off between him and Iron Man was rather limited as well. We didn't see the true potential of his creation. His "minions" took most of the screen time in the battle scenes.
There were a couple of slow periods in the middle of the film, and one touching moment involving Stark's father that brought me to tears. A cameo by the late Adam Goldstein (DJ AM) was nice as well.
Overall, it was a good film. There were some good fight sequences, lots of explosions, humor throughout (but not too strong or campy), and of course, the gadgets. All of this made Iron Man 2 fun to watch. Be sure to stick around for the end credits. As with the first Iron Man, there's a scene at the end that hints as to what's next!

Where it went wrong was the around Queens New York battle that endangered hundreds of thousands of lives and ruined hundreds of millions in real estate. What do these folks have against New Yorkers? Are they Red Sox fans or crazed Dodgers fans looking to destroy any vestige of the history of that famed ball club's name?
I don't know but, I couldn't "willingly suspend my disbelief" that my superhero from the Iron Man comics of my youth would cause such havoc. Yes, I was a HUGE fan of the comic and had many early editions until my mother "threw out the trash" I had stored in our basement while in college.
Guys, the "Thor" episode had best do a better job of making us see Iron Man's true heroic nature or the franchise will suffer deserved Bronx cheers!

I was so excited to see this movie.... and wow, what a disappointment. It seemed like they tried to pack too much in. I'm a big fan of the first IM movie, however, there wasn't enough "goodness" in the IM2 character to keep me caring about him..I really wanted to care and I was cheering for him but his self absorbed narcissistic behavior was a bit boring...too much like a lot of successful wealthy people act in real life! Sorry, it was a bit dissapointing...Rourke could've been Russian! Great job as the "evil guy"...

I went to see this movie yesterday with my 6 year old son. We loved it !!!! i would definitely recommend this movie to anyone. It had alot of action and kept you interested ....... ooohhh and wow!!!!! never knew how sexy Robert Downey Jr. was !!!!!

IM2 suffered under the weight of its own expectations. Sequels rarely outperform the original, and this was no exception. I really enjoyed it, and of course the effects were pretty...but I wanted it to be better than it was. I think that if you liked the first one, you will like the 2nd one...just don't expect too much.
