Downey's charisma aside, there just isn't much reason to spend the extra $ for the big screen...it's a cut-and-paste job of numerous preview-scenes (very well made, but still just flash-and-sizzle). I saw the midnight show and it was fun...the crowd was really into it and there were lots of great scenes and one-liners...it just wasn't quite as shockingly good as the original...not sure if I just knew the characters better this time and wasn't as impressed or if it was because of the less-than-inspiring bad guys. Either way, it is a big screen movie to enjoy at the theater (this will not be as good at home later) and I will go see it again as well as tell others too see it...like I just did.
OH and make sure you stay all the way to the end!

I'm not gonna say it was terrible, I'm not gonna say it was amazing... It was pretty much a needlessly long movie whose plot just dragged and dragged.

I was in the midnight showing of this movie, which was sold out. People were riotous and loud during all of the previews (especially the new Twilight movie), but when this movie began it only took a few minutes to shut everyone up, and to keep them quiet aside from applause. I definitely enjoyed the film and will place it very near to the first one in my heart. It stays true-to-genre as a 2nd (in a likely trilogy of) superhero movie(s), and a sequel to Iron Man. And as people have said before, make sure you stay until the end of the credits. :)

This movie is good mindless fun.
That being said it is also the stereotypical Hollywood spectacle.
Women are weak and neurotic (Paltrow) or mute sexual objects (Johansson).
Also, the scene of Scarlett Johansson changing was totally exploitative and unnecessary.
All that being said, the acting is great, from everyone but Paltrow who is doing her usual stick up the ass style of acting.
Sam Rockwell and Mickey Rourke steal the show.
Fairly good escapism, just don't think to much about what you're actually seeing and you'll enjoy it.

This was much better than i was expected based on the previews. The previews made the movie look very cheesy and like it lacked plot but the actual film surprised me. I would say its on par with the first movie for sure with the exception of Micky Rourke. He wasn't well suited for this movie and trying to fake the Russian accent made him look like a dumb oaf rather than a super buff genius. Other than that, it was a good watch and i plan to see it again in theaters and will purchase it on blu-ray later.

I set expectations low as I am jaded on sequels...BUT this one actually was better than the original! The only thing that really got to me was the switch of the character "Lt. Col. James 'Rhodey' Rhodes" to Don Cheadle. I liked Don's performance a lot but it was still a bit unsettling trying to reconcile the change.

This movie was well worth the wait...the pre-release reviews by critics did not capture the true essence of what Favreau and Co. were accomplishing...they grew the franchise... made Tony more real as a man...gave Rhodey a bigger part...added to the S.H.I.E.L.D. group...set up Black Widow with great casting of Johannsen... and it exceeded my expectations...looking forward to Iron Man 3!

The best part of the movie was the witty conversations. The script was excellent. It lives up to the standards of comic book movies and keeps you interested. No real down time in the movie. Keeps your attention throughout. Relationship between Pepper and Stark was good. For a younger crowd, less crude humor would be more appropriate. Sexual comments and 2 brief skimpy scenes didn't add anything to the movie. Felt is was unnecessary for the movie as a whole. Well directed. Overall, satisfies the action guru while keeping the verbal intellectuals entertained. Good watch. With recent CG movies this doesn't really compare.

I have always personally been a Batman fan. But now I'm gonna have to say "Ciao!" to him and "Hellloooo" to Tony Stark. The cast was amazing and the special effects were phenomenal! It was even better than the first!

"Iron Man 2" proudly continues the tradition of the trend from the last few years of where the second entry suprisingly succeeds the inaugural film. Well-paced, detailed characters, and noble themes well influenced from the Marvel Comics. Every plot point and every character fit the screen time of 125 minutes fine and not once does the film lag.

This movie was even better than the first. I am so glad Hollywood knows how to make sequels now. Not only were the special FX breathtaking, but the acting was Phenomenal. RDJ is still true to the character and Don Cheadle played Rhodie to the tee. Jon Favreau can get excellent out of everyone. Stick around after the credits for a peek at the next Marvel movie.
