Ok this was a very good movie on the whole. The only complaint my wife and I had was the "end battle." We enjoyed the fight with the drones in the wooded setting, we enjoyed Whiplash's fight with Iron Man and Warmachine. But the way they defeated him was a little cheesy. I mean at the start of the fight he showed that his suit was lightning quick, no pun intended. But at the end he just stands there while the two heroes spend 10 seconds charging up thier "mega-blast"? Didn't make sense to us. Why didn't he just jump out of the way, or at least close his helmet? Other than that very good movie, sure to recommend to friends and family.

I wish the movie had less "one liners" and more detail. I am an Iron Man comic reader and this has no way impressed me. I wish there was a little more action with the War Machine Armor and Don Cheadle does not fit as the role of James Rhodes. Terry Crews would have fit better as Rhodey. Overall it was average compared to the first movie. Mickey Rourke was a great rival in this movie. Hammer was the perfect wanna be player with no cool skills. My jets will be cool before I run to see IM3.

After all is said and done, Iron Man 2 is worth the price of admission. Tony Stark is much darker in a melancholic way (for good reason) but he is never unsympathetic. Great cast but Mickey Rourke seemed like he was in another movie where he was doing a great job but it was a drama not an action adventure movie. Robert Downey, Jr. is Iron Man and Sam Rockwell was outstanding as the jerk rival industrialist. I am sure Scarlett Johansson will get more to do in the next installment as she was underutilized here. Don Cheadle is now an action adventure star. Jon Favreau is a gifted director who can act and be an advantage on both sides of the camera. The overall look of the movie was technology that leaned more toward the fantastic than the realistic. My understanding was that was the Favreau's intent but I did not like it as an idea although executed adequately. I did enjoy it.

Examples of "2" and "3" movies many times in the past are never as good as the original, however, Iron Man 2 is the exception. The story line and the action were both good. I'd give it a B+. The only semi negative for me was the Gweneth Paltrow Scarlet Johansson mix. The chemistry seemed awkward and a bit clashy, but maybe thats what they were going for. If you saw the 1st Iron man...don't miss this one...I'm hooked.

I'm in my 60's and went with my college aged son. I liked the movie a lot! It kind of has something for everyone. Yes, it's action packed and full of graphic animation, BUT it also has a story (WOW) and a good one. Yup it's worthy to go see for certain!

Loved this movie. Couldn't get enough of Mr. Robert Downey Jr. *squeals like one of those teenage girls watching TWILIGHT*
Now on to the movie itself. For some bizarre reason, I prefer the first part over the sequel. The action for the sequel sort of fizzled. They were more interested in character development, which is fine. Had hoped that they would give more information about Johansson's character THE BLACK WIDOW, but nothing. Oh well.
Ivan Vanko was not a bad bad guy. I actually felt sympathetic over him, and didn't want him to meet a tragic end. So, I don't know if this is a good thing or not.
Overall ... Liked the movie so much I saw it three times. Sad, I know. Twice regular, and once in IMAX. This should tell you guys just how much I liked/loved the movie.

IM II was right on, just as good as the first only one change of character but all else right on the whole cast were into their roles and and played up each character to the tops. Definitely cannot wait until IM III the series is going to be great entertainment!

I liked the movie and expected lots of action, but have several comments: 1) Too much violence even for Iron Man 2) The story line leaves way too many holes 3) Plot is way too silly to believe even for this series 4) Great addition of Scarlett Johansson
They needed to spend more time developing the plot, and less time fighting and blowing things up...that is always the trouble with sequels. The directors/producers think they have to increase the amount of "action", but they always over do it. Transformers is a great example.
The movie is entertaining. The story line is incredible, but there are so many holes and impossible "fix it in 1second" solutions that it's not what it could have been.
Overall, I was disappointed, because my expectations were too high. The first movie was at least believable enough to get really into. This movie...well, there were several parts I laughed at a dramatic point, because the "fix/solution" was just too silly. You'll know what I mean if you see the movie...
But hey, like i said, it was entertaining. I give it a 3.5 stars.

This movie gave all the noise & action one could ask for! Mickey Rourke proved once again that he is the ultimate bad-ass! He surely overshadowed Robert Downey Jr. Don Cheadle was a nice addition. Scarlett Johansson was amazing! She has always been the timeless beauty, but she showed she also knows how to kick some mean butt! She in turn overshadowed Gwyneth who seriously can leave this movie anytime & does nothing but drag it down & make one want to close their eyes and take a nap whenever she comes on the screen.

Picking up about 6 months after the first movie, Iron Man 2 continues the story of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and his rise to fame after letting the world know he is Iron Man. Iron Man 2 was a solid sequel. The movie maintained, for the most part, the same character driven plot. The action sequences were well done, although too short in this viewers opinion. Also, more screen time could have been given to better develop the three new characters. Overall a solid sequel to what is shaping up to be a solid movie franchise.

Lots of good heavy casting and Scarlett Johansson was just super beautiful. Couldn't quite understand the Samuel Jackson character but I guess that's ok. I enjoyed it very much and definitely theater screen worthy. TV screen won't do justice.

Great movie, very nice character interaction and you can see more plots to develop for the Avengers movies to come next... I liked it better than the first one because it cut out some gratituous scenes that did not need to be,,, sure, this one shows more of Tony Starks characters flaws, that's the cool part, because he stays focused, thanks to Rhodie, on being iron Man. Nice villian work by Mickey Rourke, nice battle secnes and I hope the NEXT ONE (Iron Man or The Avengers- comes out soon !!!

Not as much action/shooting as the first, and more cleverness - my girlfriend enjoyed it more than the first. For the same reasons above, I prefer the first. Great film!

Different writers made all the difference in this disappointing outing. The dialog is painful, characters make awful decisons and I couldn't have cared less when Tony Stark finally kisses Pepper at the end of the movie. The effects are first rate and Mickey Rourke is amazing - everything about him is from the first movie (he's treated a serious villan) while everyone else is in the new cartoon version they filmed with human actors. Justin Hammer's character in particular would NEVER have been in the first movie - he is a buffoon that couldn't possibly have made it to running a company. Lt. Col. Rhodes would never sell the Iron Man suit to this buffoon. Iron Man wouldn't say "we need to get all these people out of here!" before engaging in 5 minutes of human-threatening battle over the Stark Expo (AFTER 5 minutes, he declares: "we need to take the fight away from here!). The first movie was very smart and real and STILL had humor and action and amazing acting. This was a cartoon with great special effects and another wonderful performance from Mickey.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

What was refreshing was to not only get to see a great "good against evil" movie but also to see the number of various ages of people in the audience from a few little kids to several adults and seniors. The movie itself was so good that you could have heard a pin drop and their were several "oohs" and "aahs" throughout with the special effects great role-playing by the actors. Highly recommended for everyone, including grandparents!
