First,. let me say "this was a very nice Mother's Day outing for me. I enjoyed being able to "bond" with my 26 yr old son for a change". Now let's get to it, I enjoyed the movie very much. It improved on the the 1st movie, which I believe is key having a good sequel and a successful franchise. "But" here it comes guys, I've noticed others have mentioned this as well. I needed more Mickey Roarke. He was a great villian that I wanted to see more from. Second, I apologize to all those Don Cheadle fans out there but I missed Terence Howard. Not to knock Don & I could get used to him. I saw Mr. Howard more as Rhodes. Otherwise, Mr. Downey was excellent as Stark. He has really embraced the role and I see the comic book image in him. I have to give kudos to the ladies this time Ms. Johannsn and Ms. Paltrow where awesome. I would definitly recommend this to everyone. Fun way to hang out with the family, your boyfriend or girlfriend. Even grandma, speaking as one of the 50 year old generation. Have a wonderful movie experience. MovieLady 51

As with any sequel I am always concerned that it will be as good as the first one and need less to say I was impressed. The action and story where just a good as the first one. They kept the story continuing along with bringing the past to the future. The only thing I think did not work for me was Don Cheadle playing Rhodes. Over all VERY GOOD!!!

This movie excellently balances action, wit, and story. I was awed by the graphics while still being engaged by the story and characters. This would not have been possible without the talent the actors brought to the table. I feel I need to see it again just to catch all the throwaways in the dialogue, and while I was never a fan previously I'm now very excited to see the Avengers!

First off - nothing about the movie will be mentioned so this will not ruin it for you.
As a long time Iron Man comic follower from the 70's/80's/90's, I think their revamping of the Iron Man "world" wasn't all that bad. They needed to make it a movie franchise and gear up for other films coming out in the Marvel Universe. I overall liked how the played things out and didn't leave me screaming, "That's not how it happened.." like people were in the JJ Abrams version of the StarTrek movie. So on to the good stuff.
I think the biggest positive is also it's biggest negative - Mickey Rourke. I wish they could have included him more in the movie. He was simply a great villain. Sam Rockwell as a not as smooth or charming version of Stark was brilliantly played out. I hope they can incorporate him in the next film somehow.
Don Cheadle played a good version of James Rhodes but I would have loved to have seen a return of Terrence Howard. I liked him better as he looked the part and I believed in him.
Scarlett Johansson/Gwyneth Paltrow looked stunning but you already knew that and Mr. Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury was stern and funny at the same time as he is not only a connection to Tony's future but also his past.
Solid movie, worth the 10.50

Overall, I liked it. The action scenes were great, definitly worth seeing in a theater. On the other hand, the first half of the movie was sooo slow!! It seems they could have cut out a multitude of scenes that wouldn't have left you sitting in your seat for over 2 hours. Definitly not as good as the first, although thats often the case with sequals. I would recommend if your into action and fighting scenes.

Just as good as the first one. Lots of action. Only complaint is that there are too many commercials and trailers before the movie. I don't mind a few, but the movie didn't start until 20 minutes after the scheduled time.

This movie isn't as good as the first one, but it is entertaining. No need to watch it in IMAX unless an IMAX 3D version is what you're watching. I went to see it in IMAX and it was just bigger, so if you're vision is just fine in the regular theatres, watch it there, save the money. Scarlett Johansen was fantastic. She didn't have ALOT of parts, but it was good. I thought that anyone could've played the role of the bad guy. No character development, though you knew most of the characters from Iron Man anyway. I love Don C. but he didn't need to be in this one either, looks like they put him in for his name, may have been a better feel if they kept the first Rhody. All in all, it was an entertaining movie. Good special effects and a halfway descent plot. I give it 4 stars.

The movie was definitely full of action and LOTS of new weapons! Lots of stuff was blown up and there were some really big explosions - all in hi-def. The blood toxicity issue - which was killing him - came out of nowhere and we had to find out much later what it actually was and meant.
Good parts are the new suit power source and the happy ending (of course) with Stark and Potts finally hooking up. Bad parts were his continuing ability to single-handedly construct massive, complex structures and machines in his basement ALL BY HIMSELF; and Don Cheadle (Rhodes) now flying an Iron Man suit. Probably the most disappointing thing to me was that when Stark thought he was dying, he just goes and gets drunk and acts like a fool - which demonstrates a complete lack of any kind of integrity or character - both of which both IM movies intermittently tried to convince us he had developed.
But, the movie, although predictable in many places, was very good, with great visuals and sound effects. I don't think that many people will be disappointed they came.

It was great, funny and action packed. I wasn't sure how the 2nd one would be but Favreau did an exceptional job and I enjoyed it. It's def a must see in the Theatre...
