I was very disappointed and expected better from Disney. This was your typical ocean movie, nothing spectacular as I had thought it would be. It was very inappropriate to show baby animals being eaten alive to a young audience. I made a special Earth Day celebration with my daughter and this bordered on boring.

We went and saw EARTH last year on Earth Day last year and it was AWESOME!! So we decided to make it a family tradition and we went and saw OCEANS this year and it was just as great. I can't wait to see African Cats next year on Earth Day 2011.....I wish DisneyNature would put out more movies during the year!!

I went to see this movie on opening day with my children. What a great movie, the scenery was fantastic. The toughest part of the movie for me to see was the human impact on the world oceans,it 's sad and makes you think how we're treating our planet. I will definitely see this movie again.

This movie was amazing! I took my daughter who is 6 years old. She and I both loved it. She shared her thoughts about the movie with my husband, her daddy, when we got home. She told him about the sea life being endangered and how we (humans) have contributed to that. She recalled her favorite sea animals as well as the power of the ocean itself. The movie was so beautifully done. It's a must see in the theater. It's given my daughter greater respect and appreciation for our earth as well as increased knowledge of how to better protect it's beauty.

Oceans appealed to our entire group: ages 6, 12, 23, 29, 52 & 53. We all need to understand the food chain and the circle of life, and Disney does an absolutely breathtaking job of demonstrating both. There is a message within that we all received - - whether we realized it or not - - We Need To Care For This Fabulous Home We Share! A laugh here and there and interesting facts kept us all interested throughout. HIGHLY recommended!

My whole life I have always had a deep love for sea life. I have never been good at math or science but if I were I would totally be a marine biologist. The water is like my second home, if I had a choice I would make my feet webbed and I would give myself gills because that is how much I love the water. When I saw the trailer for OCEANS the first thing I did was make a countdown to the day that it came out, me and my friends brought a small whale with us to the movie we are die hard fans!
This movie is more than just a movie about the ocean. Its a movie about the living beings in the ocean that we share the earth with. In a way we have forgotten them and that is whats so beautiful about this film, it opens our eyes to what the sea is. Its a world all its own and its tenants are in a category all their own. They have so much to teach us and we as a people have so much to learn from them, from their way of life. This movie touched my heart in a way that only this movie could and I am grateful the creators for putting their time and energy and passion into it, EVERYONE GO SEE OCEANS!

YES, YES, YES, I would DEFINITELY recommend this movie to ANYONE young or old.
There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING objectionable about this movie. As for the concern about exposing young children to this movie, there should be none....nature IS very cruel whether on earth, in the sea or LIFE for that matter. I'm sorry some people feel this way; maybe they should lock up their young children in a big glass case and never let them out and coddle them all their life. I feel more pity for these children of overprotective parents like these and quite frankly I am more scared of how these children are being raised then I could EVER be scared of what they could be ''exposed'' to from a beautiful movie such as ''Oceans''
For these children's sake, I SERIOUSLY hope these parents seek professional help..............

I thought the purpose of this movie was to reach out to the kind hearted and young to teach them how beautiful and necessary the ocean is; however, anyone who is kind hearted or young should NOT have been subjected to several scenes of babies being eaten alive as they struggle in slow motion with intense fear in their eyes while the sounds of their screams and the crunching of their bodies ring out in the theater. I found the movie quite disturbing and I am very upset that Disney encouraged my 10 year old daughter to see it! They attempted to show how nature could be nuturing and loving after the death scenes, but my daughter and I just kept waiting for the baby to be ripped out of the mother walrus' arms and eaten! IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A BEUTIFUL, ENCOURAGING MOVIE HAD THEY NOT SHOWN THOSE DISTURBING SCENES. It just was NOT NECESSARY. We all know animals have to eat to survive, but I do not enjoy watching it much less when it is a child watching another animal child being eaten alive! This did not evoke the feeling I believe they were wanting to bring about - instead we spent the evening trying our best to get rid of the images in our heads that DID stick there before going to bed that night.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I took my 4 year old and she loved it. I didn't think it was "too scary" or AT ALL inappropriate. Anyone that thinks that must be incredibly overprotective. The movie didn't hardly portray any natural predator/prey type of scenes, besides maybe two, that were not even gruesome; just natural. The music used was perfect; as it didn't come across as scary Jaws type of music when showing the sharks and that hugely influenced the mood of the movie. I loved it and highly recommend it for ANY age.

I took my children to see this moving and it was beautiful. It was funny and real. I appreciated the humor in the little otters and sleeping whales. This movie was not violent in any way. My children loved it. They are young and understand that life is one big circle. Thanks disney for helping me and my family appreciate this big beautiful earth. Thank you for reminding us all how much this earth is in need of survival. Great job!!!

I took my 4, 6 and 9 year old to see this movie and they all enjoyed it completely. I think that the movie is a great way for kids to learn about nature in all fashions, from sharks eating seals to a mother seal coaxing her baby into the water. My kids asked lots of questions and were amazed by the beauty of many of the animals in this movie. I highly suggest taking your kids to see this movie. Just remember there is a little natural "violence" in the movie which I fully believe children should be exposed to and not scared about. Maybe it would be something you discuss on the way to the theater so your child is not surprised.

Breathtaking. The photography was stunning, the narrator did not put you to sleep and the movie kept you wanting to see more. I took my 4 yr old and she LOVED it, but was very upset over the baby sea turtles being eaten by the birds...but then she was entranced by the fish eating frenzy after it. The music was fantastic. I loved how they showed the photographers and how they filmed it during the credits.

I'm very disappointed that Disney would allow small children to be subjected to the type of violence this movie portrays. I understand that nature can be violent but what was the purpose of showing sea lions being mauled and eaten by sharks and killer whales in a movie that is being marketed as a family film? The scenes were disturbing to say the least and at least two mothers had to take crying & upset children out of the theater during these scenes. This film did not need that footage for this movie to be a success. My 8 year old niece was extremely distraught over what she saw in this movie and it left me apologizing to her parents for allowing her to see it. I would not recommend this movie to anyone under the age of 10 and certainly not for any child who is upset by seeing other animals mauled and eaten. In one scene you could actually see the terror in the sea lions eyes as it struggling for its life in the mouth of a killer whale. Please spare me the "well nature is cruel" bit because cruel or not it is not something a child should be subjected too.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

A must see for all nature lovers and should definitely be seen on the big screen! The musical score and cinematography were awesome! Clearly depicted the beauty and power in our planet's oceans. Great moments captured on film. The sound mixing was expertly done and you will definitely notice and appreciate it.
A few violent parts may make children jump, like the sight of killer whales munching on cute cuddly sea lions, and gulls swooping up baby sea turtles for a snack.
But then again, that is the way of nature.
The narrating is done well by Pierce Brosnan.
I only wish there were more facts and information to learn, and not merely narration and prose.
Go see this during opening week and Disney will make a donation to save the coral reefs. Not sure what throwing money at coral reefs will do, but at least you can feel good about seeing this instead of the mediocre selection of films currently being offered in theaters.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
