My 3 1/2 year old and I were really looking forward to this movie but I was disappointed when I walked out of the theater. I knew going in there was a witch doctor involved but I had no idea how much Disney would show details of the Voo Doo/Hoo Doo practice. It was really frightening to my daughter who ended up sitting in my lap. She said her favorite part was when the doctor "went away" which was disappointing since I thought it would be when the frogs turned back into humans. I also didn't know there was going to be a death in the movie (hard to explain on the spot since we watched him die!). I rated it average since I still enjoyed the characters and the love story. I would NOT recommend very young children see this.

This movie has a wonderful message. The musical score is very good but the singing is fantastic! The story holds your attention so there is no time for popcorn or bathroom breaks. It is so nice to leave a movie with a smile on your face. Also many times in the G-rated movies you will be surprised with certain inappropriate moments.....what a nice relief to see a true family friendly movie!

I highly recommend this movie. My daughter and I took my five-year old granddaughter to see it and we all enjoyed it. It was loud, and scary in some parts, but the animation was wonderful and the overall storyline was excellent, as well as inspirational. This movie rates at the top of the Disney movie line for me.

The Princess and the Frog was a cute film that was generally well done. We took our 2 daughters (3 and 5) to see it, and they enjoyed it. Beyond the audio in the theater being quite loud and scaring the girls at a few points, the Shadow Man character and his band of shadow ghouls, along with the spooky music they played during those scenes, was scary for our 3 year-old. But she didn't cry or freak out- just asked us to cover her ears to dampen the sound. Overall though, it was good family fare and we'd recommend it.

We just returned from Disneyworld where "The Princess and The Frog" was showcased on a river boat running through the Magic Kingdom. Based on what we saw, we were looking forward to watching the latest Disney Princess in almost ten years. Unfortunately, we were dissappointed to see that none of the magic one might find either on Bourbon Street or in the bayou made it into the film. Unlike other Princess films, this film lacks any real sense of place or rhythm. The characters are likable, but no one is particularly compelling. The Shadow Man is the lamest Disney ever. My daughter almost fell asleep. Wait for the DVD.

I was really not expecting such a wonderful movie. My daughter wanted to see it and I went for her...not expecting to enjoy it myself. It was a lovely movie with fabulous New Orleans Jazz, Mardi Gras and Cajun music...a real treat. In addition, I can now say...you need to work hard just like Princess Tiana, everytime my five year old gives up on cleaning the play room.

This was the best Disney animation since "The Little Mermaid"! A new classic masterpiece to add to the legacy of Disney films. The story was just so great, and the colors were spectacular. My nieces and the other kids in the theater were singing the songs while watching and on the way out of the theater. I cannot say enough how much I just adored the story and the music. Wonderful voices, superb color, fantastic story. Can't wait for the DVD!

Much hype has been made about the fact that the main character isn't a traditional white princess of past story lines. Unlike the relatively helpless females of early Disney years, who always required magic or a man to "complete" their existence, this main character is much like many female characters of Disney & Pixar movies from the past 15 years or so. But it seems to me that Disney pushed the "anti-stereotype" too far, in an attempt to make amends for their years of "white-bias". There were funny moments, but the character development wasn't nearly as good as movies like Little Mermaid, Mulan, and Pocohontas.

It's tough being the quintessential Ivory Tower. For decades, Walt Disney and his successors built their fortunes on fantasy. The latest entry, The Princess and the Frog, throws in a few luscious twists on the yellow brick road to hoppily-ever-after. The animation and the music were sheer delights. Perhaps more amazing, though, were characters that had... well, character. The prince was finally more than a prop; and the princess was a girl with an attitude, one who wasn't waiting on a Prince to make her dreams come true. I'm only sorry it took the Disney group so long to discover that beauty comes in all colors.

We took our 3 and a half year old to this movie and she really liked it.. The best part is that we really enjoyed it too! Disney made a good move in putting John Lasseter (Pixar) in charge of the studio... the storytelling details have improved under his influence. The story line is wonderful, the bayou characters are utterly enchanting. Loved the hoodoo voodoo of New Orleans.
If I was collecting good Disney videos, this is one I'd have to have.

What a wonderful story Disney has told in this movie! It puts a fresh spin on an old tale, yet preserves many classic themes. The music was fun (being set in New Orleans, how could it not be??), and the characters were both lovable and funny. I really appreciated how Disney portrayed the class system of yore without using inflammatory devices. It was also full of good values and messages of character. All of us (including my husband and teenage step-daughter) really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend it and see it again!

Such a charming movie that incorporates a classic fairytale with a twist. It includes relevant humor that appeals to both children and adults and is just long enough to be entertaining all the way through without surpassing the attention span of the children. I would highly recommend this film and I would definitely see it again!!

I thought the movie was very cute and entertaining, although my 5 yr old daughter seemed to have lost interest after the first 30 or 40 mins. So there you have it.
