My Granddaughter and I loved this movie.As a grandma I loved the strong girl and tha call for balance in life. The music was wonderfull and the visual was full and bright. This is one I'll put in my Library of Dvds when possible. Thank Disney.

This movie was great. I walked in with apprehension, it wasn't my movie of choice. My 8 year old daughter wanted to see it. I found myself tapping my feet along with the terrific music. This movie went back to Disney's roots and I think it did a great job. You could not help but fall in love with Ray, the cajun firefly. All in all, I was very glad to have seen this movie!!

My 3yo and 5yo were frightened by the Shadow man with his demonic demeanor, & bad spirits from the "other side" snatched up folks, it was just not age-appropriate! Disney ought to know better! The frog prince character was a womanizing, leisure-suit-larry type. What a shame that Disney portrays this guy as the one their newest Princess should fall in love with. So important to this girl's life goal was the fulfillment of her late Daddy's dream to work hard to open a restaurant; well, her Daddy would likely not have approved of this slime-ball suitor frog Disney picked for her. He is a penniless prince because his own royal family disowned him. Don't waste your money!

The music in this movie was great and the story line ended well but the overall darkside influence brought the whole thing down. There were several parts that sang songs about voodoo and how it can be so wonderful. As a Christian, I would have to say I'd prefer my children be a little older to see it. They referred to the man doing the voodoo as the "Shadowman" trying to make him seem less threatening. If it were the other way around and this Disney movie were shoving Christian teachings down our childrens throats, people would be up in arms. Very much a double standard from Disney here. Unless you want to discuss voodoo and the dark side teachings with your children, avoid this movie.

I definitely enjoyed this movie! The characters and the storyline is quite colorful. Couldn't help but groove to the music. And the fact that the Princess is African American MAJOR plus for me. And I also like the fact that Disney went back to the "old style" in creating this movie. Very similar to some of the other Princess and Prince movies (like Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White, etc...) which I so enjoyed as a little girl. Well done Disney and a way over due IMHO.

This movie was classic Disney with it's main characters. Parts of the movie were a little on the dard side and I'm not sure I would take smaller children to see it. The animation was wonderful and the music was very enjoyable. There was a good message conveyed in working hard for what you want and not having everything handed to you.

Sadly it didn't live up to the advertising hype. Even my girls (8 and10) were not to impressed by this movie. Perhaps it was to much stereo types, to many rehashed type characters of old. For once I can't specifically state what made me dislike a movie but I can say that this would be one I couldn't recommend unless you are just wanting to see the latest kid movie.

we were all captivated by the movie. The 4 & 7 year olds loved every moment and us adults loved it also. It was wonderfully done, one of Disneys best movies. I will buy it for everyone to watch over and over once it comes to dvd. Would recommend everyone to see it in the movies since it makes it come to life.

The film had a good message about the difference between what we want and what we need. The voodoo aspects were a little too intense for a G rating. It didn't scare my granddaughters, but I had to answer a lot of questions. The 3-year-old also kept asking where the princess (the focus of Disney’s hypermarketing) was, and both got confused by the flashbacks and dream sequences. Louis the alligator was the most interesting and well done character, but it seemed like he was pulled from the cast of Fantasia and plopped into this movie. Prince Naveen seemed to be played by Pepe Le Pew in a frog suit. All in all, I think the movie is poorly rated and will disappoint the little girls expecting more emphasis on princessness.

The title, movie poster and even the previews of this movie are VERY misleading. They all suggest that Tiana is already a pricess that turned into a frog. My husband and I were pleased to see an African-American featured as a pricess for once. Unforunately, Tiana was portrayed no different than other African-American characters in movies. My 5 year old daughter of course loved the movie, however, I found it to be too dark with the shadow man and shadow deamons. I think the concept of voodoo is very inappropriate for a "G" rating.

My husband and I took our four children (yrs: 14, 7, 4, 2) and they all loved it. There are some scary scenes but not scary enough to make my 2 year old not want to watch it. The colors, food, regional talk was on point! Will buy once on DVD!!!!

While the movie is a little on the dark side with the use of vodoo and shadow demons, a little more realistically dark is the fact that Disney shows what the "Jim Crow " era was like by having Tianna and her mom sit in the back of the trolly on their way home to the "black side of town." If that was not blatant enough, when the white bankers deny Tianna's loan, she is told that she is better off "staying in her place." The fact that she doesn't become a princess until they almost roll the credits makes the movie even less appealing. Save your money and watch it on DVD.

The music and the authentic scenes, food and characters were outstanding. The characters' accents were on target. I thought, like many others, that some of the scenes would scare my 5 yr. old; but, they didn't. I'm from New Orleans & have grown up knowing voodoo was practiced, but it didn't seem real to me, nor did it to my child. Except for the concentration on voodoo, the ambiance of New Orleans was capture. Good moral to the movie.

We took our 5 year old to the movie. She doesn't like scary scenes in movies, so we were worried at first with the voodoo aspect, but they handled it nicely and she was fine. The move had nice messages and was something we could talk about afterward with our child. We all LOVED the music!!

My 3 1/2 year old son loved this movie, as did my husband & I. The music was wonderful, the message was fantastic, and unlike several movies we've seen lately, my son's interest was held the entire time. Great supporting characters as well. We just really enjoyed it! I wouldn't rank it as high as Little Mermaid or Cinderella, but compared to the last several years of Disney Movies...this is a REALLY good one!

great for my 7 year old daughter- princess, love story, fun songs...not great for my 5 and 3 year old sons. there was alot of voodoo stuff with creepy ghosts, like the ones in "ghost" with patrick swayzee, that made scary sounds and screams and stone-temple faces with fire in their mouths. they slid down in their seats and did not like it at all. almost had to leave the theater.

After all the hype from my friends, I splurged and bought tickets for myself & my four kids to see it in the theaters. I was very disappointed. I liked the music and the feel of New Orleans, but was very disappointed in the story. There wasn't much of a character arc and even at the end, I felt like poor Tiana ended up with a selfish, conceited prince.The scenes with the voodoo doctor were very dark and some of them even scared my 10 year old. My 2 year old loved the music and danced anytime the crocodile broke out his trumpet. Overall - I felt this movie wasn't worth the $30 I paid for tickets. I'd recommend putting it on your Redbox list rather than fork out the money to see it in the theaters.

This movie was a wonderful feel good movie. The music was catchy. They lesson that it taught between what one wants and what one needs was wonderful. I think that Disney did a great job with this new princess movie. My daughter (10) and I fell in love with the movie and want to see it again!
