Went with girls (9 and 4). They both enjoyed it - more so the 9 year old. I thought the voodoo stuff was way overdone and the shadow guy was creepy. The music was excellent and the swamp scenes the best. Would have liked the movie to contain more about the lives of the prince and princess AFTER their marriage (setting up restaurant, etc.). The restaurant was a driving theme, but then it was lost at the end. Nonetheless, was a good movie.

Cute little movie for the younger generation. My 5 year old granddaughter loved it, but my 8 year old grandson said that it was "kind of a stupid girl movie". He liked the "bad guy" and the alligator and thought it "was neat that the frogs kiss at the end and became people". An over all good experience and enjoyable 1 1/2 hours. A little short for the price but it kept the kids attention.

We took 5 girls, 3 boys and 9 parents to see this movie for a five year old birthday party. The kids ranged in age from 2 to 9 and they LOVED it; everyone of them! The adults even thought it was one of the best Disney Princess movie yet! The villian wasn't too scary for the little ones, the princess was an EXCELLENT example for young girls and the frogs were very entertaining for the boys! All parents agreed that the princess was the best princess so far. She worked hard for what she wanted and her life wasn't a fantasy unattainable for little girls. Kudos to Disney!

I was dissapointed in this movie. Normally when I leave a good disney movie I can't wait for the DVD to come out so I can buy it or rent it to see again. This won't be happening with this movie. Very good movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it, probably more than my 5 year old!
I agree with some of the other reviewers in that some of the "voodoo spirits" could be a bit frightening to smaller kids. But overall, the movie was great! Tiana was beautiful in how she treated people, Lottie was funny and sweet in the lessons she learned, and Prince Naveen's tranformation (in many senses!) were great examples for children. Loved it!

The Princess and The Frog is a wonderful movie. It has the makings of some great Disney Characters that I hope will last as long as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty have. Liked the music, didn't care much for the movie overall. Had my four year old along, he got scared by all the voodoo antics - would be nice if they could've come up with an idea other than the voodoo.

I really liked the movie. I am from New Orleans and thought it was a pretty accurate representation of the city during that time. Disney’s done it again. A good family movie that is witty and funny with enough adult references to make it enjoyable for those audience members who have past, but still remember the wonder of their childhood. I was sitting next to a six year old who had no visible reaction to the movie’s actions but her mother and I both experienced moments when we chuckled and laughed. Older children might have a better time viewing this film: especially considering the shades that pursued the hero and the heroine. Those scenes appeared a bit scarier to me and not appropriate for younger children. The six-year old made the comment that she was glad she was sitting between two adults. It was a successful Disney effort and I would go to see it again.

The Princess and the Frog had wonderful music and a nice story line, however a tired one. The music was the best part of the film bringing the sounds and melodies of New Orleans Jazz and blues. The animation bothered me as many scenes seemed to "strobe", meaning Disney cut short it's animation budget and used too few frames per second; you could see the individual frames when some character's moved. Overall, it was a fine childrens film, (the only rated "G" in all of Los Angeles), but not as touching and visually stunning as a Pixar film.

I am a huge Disney Princess movie fan and this movie sucked! It was so far below par compared to the other Disney Princess movies. I found it painfully long and entirely too much singing. It had a plot and one or two entertaining moments, but overall it was really bad. I wouldn't even rent it on Netflix when it comes out on DVD let along buy it.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Took our 3½ year old grandaughter who is very much into the princess stuff and was impressed with the movie. They could have toned down the voodoo scenes and still had a great film but we did leave enjoying the movie.

Excellent movie!!! My four year old loved it! So happy to see an African American Princess- we hope to see her at Disney world. We will definately be buying the CD when it comes out. Loved all the characters. Loved Tiana's hard work ethic and Naveen's lazy prince attitude. Louis and Ray were great characters. Loved the ending! Witch doctor a little scary but no more than the other villians in the other disney movies. Diney did a great job!

The Princess and the Frog had all the hallmarks of a Disney classic movie! Very refreshing in today's digital age! Smart, funny and endearing characters. A very entertaining childrens movie with enough to keep adults entertained too. My 3 year old was enthralled. And good on you Disney for finally recognizing the diversity of our world with diverse lead characters!!! Wonderful.

What a wonderful film. The overall message of staying committed to one's dream and reamining willing to work towards it through adversity is a message I want my children to hear over and over again. This is a new Disney classic. The setting of New Orleans was so beautifully and acurately depicted that it captivated and awakened my senses. I could almost smell the gumbo on the stove and feel the energy of that unique city. What a treasure this film is- take your children again and again. We walked out of the theatre and my 3 asked me if we could go to the next showing....for the first time ever I was tempted!...another day! Go and get inspired to follow your dream as Tiana does.
