This movie is done in good old fashioned Disney animation. It proves that a movie does not need to be CG, 3D, and/or HD to be a winner and enyoyed by children and adults. A fairy tale with a twist or two and good music by Randy Newman make this one a must see and own. Be prepared to download the songs for your kids to sing along with after. One word of caution. The shadow man and his shadow friends may be frightening for the under 5 set.

This movie has been long overdue. As an African American woman with 2 young girls, we have been waiting to see a Princess with whom we can relate. She is not a damsdel in distress, but hard-working with career goals and parents who are supportive. In addition to the story line, the music and visuals are great.
With that said, I must criticize the movie for its limited portrayal of Tiana not only as a princess but as a person! Why did we spend 60 of the 90 minutes looking at Tiana as a "green frog"? Our girls need to see more positive images of themselves on TV. Although it is a good story, we would have loved to see Tiana's beautiful face more - with or without a tiara!

Very cute movie. I took my 2/1/2 and 5 1/2 year old girls. They both loved it. Good hidden moral to the story kind of movie as usual from Disney. The only thing is there were a few parts that made them a bit scared for a second. Mostly involving the voodoo ghosts and the magic man. Also they got a bit upset when something happens to lightening bug near the end. Nothing they didn't recover from in 5 seconds. That was why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. All in all another great princess flick. I also like that the girl doesn't start out as a princess or have an aspiration to be one.

The singing, dancing & clever punch lines had me clapping and slappin my knees. I took my 2 year old daughter to see the movie and she absorbed every minute of it. You've done well Disney. This movie was hilarious!! I was laughing the whoe time. I took my play nephews and they loved it too. They wanted to sit through it a second time.
I liked that it had a good message too. Tiana kept saying that you have to have goals and you have to work for them which I think is an idea that we are loosing in today's society.

The movie was wonderful! I brought my daughter and godchild and they were glued to the screen! Pretty good for two 4 year olds! The animation and music were both equally as stunning! I really like the Princess and the Frog and my girls did too (4 and 5 yrs). I thought it gave a good message about wishing only getting you so far in life and having to work to accomplish your dreams. The girls really enjoyed the humor in the movie. Although I do think some of the voodoo stuff was a little on the scary side, I don't think the girls really understood it.

I went to see this movie, a bit unwillingly and after having heard many bad comments, but I am glad that I went to see it for myself because I really enjoyed. What better place to set this movie in than New Orleans. It really is a magical place and if you never had the opportunity to visit before Katrina, I pity you. The music was great and I would definitely recommend this movie, just go see it with an open mind and you may be surprised like me.

This was one of the best children's movie that I have seen since the Lion King. The story was well told and just enough adventure to keep the children's attention. I may have appreciated it more than my kids. Disney got it so right - all of the 'Disney' elements that make it their movie - father and friend die (but it is not long and drawn out), cool trippy song and dance routine, clever plot twist and some very funny lines.

I took my daughter to see this movie and was blown away by it. Thank god Lassiter came to Disney and decided to overturn the decision of Eisner to end the hand drawn animation. The animation of this movie is warm, colorful and amazing. You are mesmerized by the animation. The music as well for this movie is incredible. None of the music as cheesy, it has a nice warm, tempo, a great new orleans theme. The story as well could not be better, I know Disney received some criticism for having a black princess, but the criticism is unwarranted. This is def a movie I will take my daughter to see again and buy on Blu ray when it comes out.

I saw this movie with 3 of my granddaughters, and we all found it to be awesome. To repeat someone else this Disney movie will definitely be purchased for our library when it comes out on DVD. Way to go Disney, and yes it is about time!

I took my Girl Scout Troop, and they thought the MOVIE was awesome. They are 10, and came out of the movie telling me that they were inspired, and now believe that they can achieve anything their heart desires with hard work, determiniation, and FAITH. And to see a Princess that looked like them, made them all feel PROUD. One of them told me, "I'm almost there, as the First Black Woman President of the United States, ALMOST THERE"...

i took two of my three girls to see it and i was very upset with the 'shadows' and voodoo/hoodoo that was taking place. not thrilled with disney right now.

It was wonderful to see a princess that looked like me and my goddaughter, whom I took to see it last night. It was wonderful to see a princess that was smart, dedicated, determined, hard working, AND is able to have her prince and her professional dream. It is well worth seeing. Would have seen it even if my goddaugther wasn't with me.
