This movie provided a few laughs and the chemistry between the two stars is terrific. However, many of the funnier scenes have been shown to death in the previews so overall, it wasn't as good as it could have been had those scenes been saved. Decent date movie.

As long as you don't go into this movie expecting anything brilliant, you shouldn't be disappointed. The personalities and stereotypes are over-written for expedient establishment. The greatest attribute the movie has is the charisma of it's stars but the writing overplayed the stereotypes to move the story. Two very funny scenes - one leading to the next starting with a discussion about self-gratification. Nice mindless fun for girlfriends or date night. If you're watching your entertainment budget, then you may consider waiting for this to hit "On-Demand". There is really no reason for a theater experience unless a 20ft high Gerard Butler is worth $10.50 to you.

"The Ugly Truth" is that "The Hangover" will be the best comedy out this summer! A couple of great laugh out loud moments in The Ugly Truth, but most was predictable. For example, if the female is holding a cat...the joke for the man will be about....and, it was!

Definitely funnier than I thought it would be - the restaurant scene compares to Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal in Something About Mary - ROFL!! Did feel the language was a little crude and unnecessary but when you stoop to a man's level guess that is where you go LOL. Felt like a lot of the things Butler was saying was right on and Heigl - well there are lots of us workaholics with ideals that will never be realized - wish all our lives could have this happen ending but NOT - LOL

I went into the movie with very low expectations (Movie Reviewers). It was mostly entertaining. Some of the audience was laughing histerically, while I laughed occasionally. Same theme as "He's Just Not That Into You", but not as good. Male character is HOT and makes watching the movie pretty easy. Good date night movie.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda been so much more. Nothing original here. There are some chuckles and a few laughs, combined with just-okay, ho-hum acting from Heigl & Butler. Truth is - you would be smart to save some money and rent it later or see it at the dollar theater. Just not that special....and it could have been. To be honest - I did not expect much and it squeaked over my very low expectations ....still not far enough over to recommend it. A lot of wasted opportunity and that is the ugly truth. 10 minutes of mirth and 86 minutes of your standard man vs woman interplay.

The Ugly Truth was fantastic! I was totally entertained! And I laughed a lot!
Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl have a great on-screen chemistry. Their story really illustrates the importance of "friendship" in a relationship.
This is a perfect date movie! And even a single person (as myself) can enjoy it.
For a romantic comedy, there were some really cinematic moments, especially the scene with the hot air balloons. Simply breathtaking cinematography!
If you can avoid "G-Force", do so, and go see this one!

My wife and I went to see this movie and loved every minute of it. Everyone in the movie theatre was laughing and it was filled with people of all ages. I believe that the people who laughed the hardest were those coupled up. This was a great date night movie and well worth the $16.00.

I would go watch Gerard Butler read the phone book, so I would have seen this movie regardless. The critics hated it, but individual people on here loved it - so I was very skeptical. I'm somewhere in the middle. Crude humor does not offend me in the least, but I did feel some of it was unnecessary in this movie. Overall, it was very entertaining and very funny in parts (tree scene and restaurant). I also feel it is the Ugly Truth about what the majority of men are looking for.

This movie was a bit above the average "chick flick". It was definitely funny and light. KH seems to be overacting a bit these days, but again, it delivered in the romantic comedy category.

I am by no means a connoisseur of romantic comedies, but I found 'The Ugly Truth' too hard to swallow to give it any more than three stars. The movie has many hilarious and somewhat unexpected moments that will leave you laughing, often, as another reviewer has said, to the point of tears. However, the plot line leaves much to be desired and ultimately made the movie fall flat for me. On the good side, though, this is a movie that should please both men and women and does provide enough laughter to set aside other deficiencies.

The ugly truth is save your money. Butler was great. Heigel what can I say. She always seems to play someone who is smart, but you never believe she's smart. She can't act on Grey's and still can't act. In HD the sets look fake.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
