After a long difficult week this movie is exactly what I needed to improve my mood. I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. I did go with a date and we both laughed at ourselves when we saw little pieces of each other on the screen. I would definately recommend this movie to others but caution about taking teens. The over 60 crowd might not find it as funny either.

Of course it's not Pride and Prejudice, but it was lighthearted, funny, sexy... and sadly, I'm sure more than a couple people, male and female, could learn a thing or two from it. What can I say, I liked this movie. It had a mixture of all emotions: funny, surprising, the "awww" factor, romance, etc. Except I recommend not to take any teens. It is rated R so expect the content and language. Heigl is a wonderful actress and now appears that she can vary her roles in acting. And come on, who doesn't like watching Gerard Butler, and then the other guy, he is gorgeous! But beware guys, this is A CHICK FLICK, so don't be surprised that you don't approve.

This moview was great! It laughed non stop and had tears in my eyes most of the time. I went and saw it with my mom and a friend and they loved it. People that are saying it's crude... well they are correct but you have to have an open mind and able to take humour. Those that are completely bashing the film should never have went to seen it in the first place. It's right on target with most romantic comedies coming out right now, what I love about them is that it's more comedy than romance. I could have easily taken my husband to see it and he would have been amused. People really need to lighten up and have a good time sometimes. It IS a shame that someone like Katherine Heigl would take on such a demeaning role; she's MUCH better than this mess. In the first few minutes of the movie, Heigl's character seemed to be under control, professional, the one everyone came to for answers because she was confident and cool. I liked that; in fact, I respected that. But just ten minutes later I was shaking my head, depressed that this "strong woman" would hand her love life over to a vulgar (unwashed) idiot. Both Heigl and Butler should both be ashamed for lowering themselves to this degree. Rauncy cliches and painful, crass babble that cannot even begin to pass for a script made this a definite DO miss.

I was absolutely appalled at the language and the shocking and grotesque "humor". I've recommended that people NOT see this movie. Especially to my 18 year old daughter. It's so sad that Hollywood feels that it has to put out movies of this nature to make a buck. I mean, something crude would be said and it was so shocking the whole theater gasped. And there was more silence than laughter. People were uncomfortable and embarrassed. But I guess that's what Hollywood wants. They thrive on the shock-factor.

I literally had been waiting months for the movie to come out since I have SUCH a thing for Gerard Butler, and I can honestly say that the movie was worth the wait. Well, I have pretty much given up going to a theater and paying more for my food than the movie, and this movie convinced me of my prior convictions....... I felt the whole movie to be just another formula romantic boy/girl comedy with a beautiful woman saying "c--k" many times successively to get attention. I found myself dozing off near the end, since it seemed so slick, clean, and predictable.
I am sticking to my ideals and waiting until movies like this go to dvd rental because that is all it is really worth to me. The only Ugly Truth I heard was the cry for a better script.........it's no Cousin Vinny, Sarah Marshall, or Knocked Up, that's for sure.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
