This was by far one of the most vulgar movies I have seen in a long time. I wish I would have walked out after the first ten minutes of the movie, but decided to stay and see if it would get better. It didn't. Things went from bad to worse very quickly and my daughter and I wound up walking out before the movie was even over. I would not recommend this movie to anyone, and I think its a shame that movie makers think that this is entertainment.

The Ugly Truth is an enjoyable film thanks largely to Gerard Butler's portrayal of a damaged man that doesn't believe in true love (or does he). Butler cares most of this movie. I regretted seeing this movie in the first five minutes. I felt dumb for going to it and dumber for sitting through it. They just don't make smart romantic comedies like "When Harry Met Sally" anymore. Katherine Heigl is so pretty and her looks are the only pleasing thing about this show. Dumb gimmick following her cat on a tree limb. Dumb gimmick falling and hanging from limb and even dumber gimmick when Dr. from apartment across the courtyard comes to help her in a towel. Gerard Butler was convincing as a male cheuvanist pig, which was funny at times, but the fact that Katherine's character hated him so much, but so quickly was doing what he said was very dumb. SAVE YOUR MONEY and skip this one.

Entertaining and so predictable. Butler and Heigl seem like 30+ teens who hate each others guts they have to be in love. The viewer says: hurry up and realize you're going to hook up...and live happily ever after. They even fly away in a baloon to somewhere over the rainbow. So if you're a teen at heart...enjoy. I wouldn't watch it twice.
