I was really looking forward to this movie, but I left the theater feeling disappointed. There is another movie with a very similar plot called Someone Like You. Unfortunately, Ugly Truth doesn't compare favorably to Someone Like You which had better dialogue and better plot.

This was a great movie! Not everyone will appreciate the vulgar humor...but it was so funny. It was a movie that really puts it all out there...dating fallacies, how guys think, how gals think, and how different they really are. I truly enjoyed this movie and it was obvious that everyone in the theater enjoyed it too. I laughed out loud and often, which is rare for me. I am a fan of Gerard Butler and he and Katherine Heigl are great together, they had wonderful chemistry. It is a romantic comedy that has something to offer both male and female...lots of laughs. While I recommend this movie, it would only be to individuals who are not bothered by blatant (and sometimes crude) references to male/female relationships. I went with a friend and we enjoyed the humor in the movie. I think this movie is one of the best romantic comedies I've seen in a long time. Sure it was predictable and formulaic, but most romantic comedies are (and I'm okay with that). But what wasn't predictable (at least in my opinion), were the laughs. I haven't laughed out loud that hard in a movie in a long time! The movie itself was well paced, engaging, witty, charming, and in a summer of super long movies...just the right length. All in all, this movie is a must see!

I went with the illusions that we would get to see the two main characters have more scenes together and the cute/quirky way the trailers suggested. Instead it turned into a foul mouthed ,romp through vulgarity, and deviant crude inuendo. I was able to get past the crude language, but my guests were not. It was ok. It was kind of crass in parts, and you kind of wonder why anyone would be attracted to the character portrayed by Gerard Butler. Butler does not necessarily do a good job of revealing a more charming to himself.

It was funny and cute, but its no suprise what the ending. The way Butler held his jaw was annoying though. Maybe he had chew or something?

I thought this movie was very funny. The chemistry between Heigl and Butler was great, and in telling "what men are thinking" Butler hit the nail right on the head. If you're not offended by the language and content, you will definitly enjoy this movie.
