Was so funny, the audiance and I laughed so hard, I believe I would have to watch again due to missed some parts from laughing. I have recommended this movie to all my friends already. Husband and I enjoyed this film immensely! There was nonstop laughter from both of us and another couple we went with during parts of the film. I found my jaw and cheekbones to be sore later from smiling and laughing so hard. It was brilliantly written enough so that any man would enjoy this film with it's witty conversation on both ends. I'll buy it on dvd as soon as it's released! :)

I laughed uncontrollably in this beautifully casted comedy. Gerard Butler is a no-holds-barred, tell-it-like-it-is kinda guy who is fated to fall for Kathryn Heigel despite his guidance to assist her get her dream man. Little do they both realize that he is falling for her as he is helping her catch and keep the "good doctor". They are perfectly matched for these roles. I don't think I ever laughed out loud in a theatre the way I did last night. It is not a chick flick. The husband in couple who sat next to me laughed as loudly as I did. You MUST SEE this film. Take your husband. Take your boyfriend. Go alone. But go see it!

The film uses the romantic comedy plot and isnpredictable but if the formula works then why not use it? Gerard Butler is adorable. Maybe someday he'll even be allowed to speak with his normal Scottish burr. Katherine Heigl was funny but I felt like I was watching 27 Dresses or maybe it was Knocked up...she doesnt seem to have much range. It was funny, sweet and predictable happy ending but then that was just why we went tosee it. Not every movie needs to make you think. Some just make you leave the theatre happier than you came in. My daughter 21 has seenit twice. It is more popular with younger crowds which seems funny to me as couple is older. I'd recommend it for a girls night out but I think my husband would hate it.

AWESOME! My wife, daughter (15yrs old), and I went to see this movie 7/24/2009, at my daughter's request. At first, I wasn't really up to going, but it was Friday and it's our usual outing.
WOW, was I ever glad I attended this movie. I laughed uncontrollably throughout the movie.
There are two particular scenes which really did it for me, I'm laughing now while thinking about it: The restaurant scene and the baseball game scene...HILARIOUS!

I'm not going to lie, I expected this movie to be cute and comical and your typical 'chic flick'. I was pleasantly surprised when I found myself laughing throughout the entire film. I went with a group of girls to see "The Ugly Truth" last friday for the sneak peak. I have to say, it was AMAZING! I wasn't expecting much, even though I do like Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler, but the trailers did not make the movie seem all that substantial. Let me just say that I was happily surprised. The movie gave more than enough funny moments and twists to keep me engaged the whole time.
I would definitely recommend this movie, especially for dates (because guys can enjoy this, trust me), but it's great for friends too (not families).

Saw this movie in a packed movie theatre and actually missed a bit of the dialouge because of the loud laughter, both from myself and from everyone else in the theatre. While the plot may be a bit cliche, the laughs are well worth it. My fear going in was that all the funny stuff was in the trailer, but the movie was WAY funnier than the trailer.

very cute movie! a great chick flick for a girls' night out. the end was a little predictable and abrupt, but overall lots of laughs and romantic moments. i will definitely watch it again when it comes out on DVD!

I saw this film with my husband in a sold-out sneak preview. We roared with laughter along with the audience the whole way through the film, finding the dialogue raunchy and outrageous but also enjoying the great chemistry between the strong leads. The film is a fun take on Cyrano/Pygmalion, with a macho, sexist male showing an uptight female his version of the ropes of dating. My husband loved this romantic comedy which seemed aimed at men as well as women. Who wins the battle of the sexes here? Just as in life: let's call it a draw!
