Heigl and Butler are positively hilarious in this adult comedic battle between Venus and Mars. Crude and prude collide when Butler walks onto Heigl's TV set to boost ratings with his unorthodox style of explaining the difference between men and women. When Heigl falls for her "perfect" man, Butler is all-to-happy to help her seal the deal. Although predictable and finishing with a weak ending, this film is still very entertaining a makes for a great adult date night. I wish there had been a bit more chemistry between the actors, but the movie still works well. Go and enjoy!

Another fun and humorous romantic comedy but this one doesn't bring anything new to the screen. Butler and Heigl have great chemistry and they keep you watching and interested but the comedy set ups and ending are not new and you see them all coming. This is a fun movie to see, both my husband and I enjoyed it and were able to agree upon seeing it...which is rare. But its nothing to write home about.

This movie is great brainless, relaxing entertainment. It doesn't delve too deeply into any character's psyche or evoke any journey of enlightenment, which is exactly what some of us need sometimes: just light, easy, brainless FUN! I laughed through almost the entire movie, and did not feel like I took years off of my life at the end (which is all too common a feeling when I actually go to the theater). Gerard Butler is precious as Mike, and made for some very funny scenes that even guys would enjoy!

"The Ugly Truth" is about a TV Producer named Abby Richter (Heigel) who has trouble meeting and dating men. The TV Show she produces is having rating problems so her boss brings in an Independent Talk Show person named Mike Chadway (Butler) who has his own views about the battle of the sexes... The story unfolds from there. The movie is absolutely Hillarious! I laughed out loud many times. The on-screen chemistry that Katherine Heigel and Gerard Butler has is great. This is definitely an adult movie, no kids allowed. The only problem is the end is surprisingly predictable.

The theatre was packed, and at times the audience laughed so loudly that the dialogue couldn't be heard. At other times, the audience would also shout out predictions about what would come next, and they were always correct. It was a much raunchier version of When Harry Met Sally, including a better restaurant scene (you know the one I mean). Unfortunately the ending was predictable and there was something artificial about getting there. The director missed some great opportunities to explore the softer side of Butler's character and the harder side of Heigl's.
Katherine Heigl was looking her best, but unfortunately Gerard Butler wasn't.

this movie is fast paced non stop comedy, i was really surprised. there were times the crowd was laughing so loud and hard u would miss some of the dialogue. perfect title, brutal honesty, Gerard Butler is hilarious. i took my wife to see it and im glad i did, we loved it

I cannot disagree with the critic who thought this was not a good movie... that being said, I laughed and shrieked and snorted throughout the movie... as did the folks all around me. What an absolute hoot! I cried off my makeup, I was laughing so hard. Even my date, who generally only likes "good" movies at art houses, was roaring. This movie is a fun must-see!

This movie was by far the funniest movie I have seen all year. This has scene's in it that will go down as classic's. There is a scene in this movie that will go down in history as the one and only rival to the restaurant scene in Harry met Sally.
This movie is a must see.
