The way the film was marketed, it was really hard for the average viewer to discern that Funny People wasn't just a comedy. Funny People is a dramedy? Well, besides feeling like the pre-views and hype had left me ill-prepared for the film...I liked it. It was hilarious! Sander and a much thinner Seth Rogen have great chemistry and it was fun to watch them interact. With a full arsenal of amazing supporting cast members, Funny People is actually funny! My only real complaint would have to be that it felt like the movie was an hour longer than it should've been. The whole second half felt unnecessary. Don't get me wrong, I totally enjoyed it. But, still unnecessary.

Described by Judd Apatow as a "dramedy", "Funny People" was true to his role. As a man on the verge of dying, George Simmons (Adam Sandler) tries to make amends for his mistakes in life. But once he discovers he's better, he continues on the same path as his assistant Ira (Seth Rogen) points out. Jonah Hill and Jason Schwartzman provide the Apatow classic as the ridiculous and funny roommates. It was a great balance between side-splitting laughter and some really poignant moments. This film is also a great showcase of Rogen's wide-range of talent. While long, it's a must-see.

Seth Rogen and Adam Sandler have struck the heart of every aspiring comedian out there anwod, of course, comedy gold. I know aspiring comedians and its an accurate depiction. In other news, this movie is actually a bromance hidden under an appatow movie crew and Sandler movie. The ending scene depicts rogen and sandler tossing jokes around. this movie has the timeline of a bromance, not unlike, say, dumb + dumber. Friends are split up about girl problems, woman goes back to husband, friends again. This is a bromance.

I was anticipating a great laughter filled movie after viewing the previews. I found out that "Funny People" isn't so funny. I actually caught myself looking at my watch 3/4 into the movie and was hoping for it to end. There were some funny moments mostly exposed by the previews prior to viewing. NOT WORTH the trip to the theater. I hope this isn't where Judd Apatow is heading to with his scripts.

If 80% of the p***s jokes and references had been cut out of this movie, it would have been of a reasonable length and the story would have come through without being overshadowed by the crudeness. I enjoyed Apatow's other two movies much more than this one.

Not as funny as I had hoped for. It was a decent movie, however it focused too much on the love story in the movie unstead of the comedy. Wait for the DVD!
