My family enjoys a good disaster movie and this one fit the bill. It was a little beyond belief on a few 'just in the nick of time' moments, but the special effects were incredible, and it fulfilled our need for an enjoyable afternoon at the movies. The idea was well thought out and incorporated several end of the world theories that have been very popular and made them all come together in a very entertaining way, you had to think a little, which was a fun break between the jaw dropping action that was loaded with fantastic special effects. Overall an extremely enjoyable trip to another time and a reality I hope never occurs.

One of the best movies I've seen in a long time, great mix of computer simulations and real footage and difference not notable. Will keep you 100% foscued and well acted...no shlock! Better than Titanic, Independance Day, etc. Movie on three screens all sold out but we bought tickets over this site and arrived early.

This movie was somewhat disappointing. I thought the theme would be good if they made it more believable. It got pretty predictable and rather hokey in parts. I think that 2012 ranks up there with some of the good doomsday movies. I'm willing to admit that some of the stuff in the movie was VERY sci-fi, but it worked well in the movie. The CG was some of the very best I have ever seen, and as for the acting, it was a bit hit and miss at some points, but overall it was pretty good. Of course a few corny jokes and puns were thrown into the movie, but it fits in pretty well.
So, if you like this sort of stuff I'd suggest this movie, unless your a science expert, then you might get caught up in the unrealistic aspects of the doomsday scenerios.

I wasn't aware of the length of the movie, as it kept my interest throughout. There were times it was a bit dry (with the relationship issue) but worth what I spent to see the movie. The special effects I thought were decent, and not overdone, it needed to be as it was since it reflected what would happen if the earth's crust did shift.

Too many special effects. Bad casting (ship captain). Flipping the bird and calling passengers on the ship 'b*stards' was unnecessary. Movie was too long.
