2012: Really enjoyed this movie. the action was almost non-stop. Would we act this way in a real catastrophe of biblical proportion? Probably not. Most of the plane flying scenes were impossible. But I go to movies like this to have my imagination stretched. 2012 did the job. Woody Harrelson plays a great Lunatic. Too bad the hollywood critics didn't like it. If they give a movie a low rating I know that, at least I will like it. It was still selling out when I went to see it here in New Orleans. My only complaint was that other people could not stay in their seats during the movie. Maybe it was too long for them.. I will see this one again.. Danny Glover for President!!! Dan F.

Fascinating movie with a little vintage Hollywood film making, like "The Bible and The 10 Commandments" with a twist of "Earthquake."
Woody Harrelson plays a good part symbolizing Charlton Heston as he warns humanity to repent. The biblical tale of Noah's Arc with a pair of every living species resembled as 3 gigantic ships sail to unknown territory. The special effects along with the acting are exciting and surreal to imagine how a handful of people can survive nature's wrath. The 1,500 feet tidal waves and the 10+ magnitude earthquakes that reshape the surface of the earth are the pivotal points of the movie.
The 2 hours and 38 minutes will seem like 30 minutes of pure adrenaline for everyone.

2012 will leave you on the edge of your seat for most of the movie. There are some introduction of characters in the movie but it was just enough. The rest was all action. The ancient Mayans had two versions of the now famous calendar. They survived their first edition.... They (the Mayans) did not predict the end of the world; only a major transformation. So at least this movie didn't show the planet blowing up! Some of the statements about geology were laughable. It's true that we shoud be headed for another magnetic polarity reversal, but that takes thousands of years to complete! Many of Earth's species survived the last reversal. Scientific faux pas aside, 2012 was very exciting. It had an adequate structure, and one won't mind the length because of this. I find tales of survival entertaining. This film will remain one of my favorites in that genre; as long as I can remain unbiased.

If you are looking for "Independence Day" theater, then go see this movie, otherwise not worth expending the cash. I would give 5 stars to the special effects, OUTSTANDING! Top name actors, but poor script and poor directing. Let's be sure we get all the ONE LINERS in there for LAUGH effect, we entangle the main door on one of the ARKS so the main character (writer, Limo Driver) can save the day, and the GREEDY Russian BILLIONAIRE dies without ever boarding the Ark! I expected a more serious movie going in, but went out very disappointed!
No, I do not recommend this movie.

The story line was pretty good...not the best but pretty decent. The choice of actors was rather odd, but didn't kill the movie or anything. The special effects are amazing and well worth seeing in the theater!

This movie assumes that we are all idiots. How could they still have cell phones that work as the world is being distroyed? Where were the cell towers? And how could computers still work? Ridiculous! The special effects were so over the top most of the time. John Cusack plays the same character in EVERY movie he is in...The writing was so corny that people in the audience were laughing, including us. Woody Harrelson's character was the dumbest ever...in fact, all of the actors in this movie I predict will never work again...I bet they'll be embarressed to show their faces around Hollywood for a fair bit of time! :)
