This is a excellent disaster move. You can enjoy this with your entire family. Unlike Transformers 2 this movie did not have much profanity or vulgar scenes and I could watch this with my 6 and 11 year old sons without embarrassment. Please do not expect any logical explanations for a number of scenes. This is "brainless" enjoyment and I commend the director that he has made a movie which does holds the viewers attention for nearly 3 hours. Some parts are a bit slow, but I can give a pass on those as overall the movie was enjoyable.

You never "bond" with any of the characters. The plot gets weaker and weaker. The special effects are outstanding, maybe the best ever. The violin music toward the end, trying to make you care about the characters, was ridiculous. There is never a reason to care about any of the characters, and I've already forgotten their names.

Of course, barely anyone from California is going to like 2012 because it's saying that all you people are going to die 1st. The truth hurts.
The geological & scientific elements depicted in 2012 were stunning and surreal. The fact that all of these things "could" actually happen, IS the freaky part. 2012 had action, was full of adventure, a little romance : ) & some eerie Mystery. I Love John Cusack films. Woody Harrelson was a great comic relief; and reminded me of Timothy Treadwell. I recommend that everyone see 2012; a real eye-opener & will make you stop and think.
I hope that 2012 is just a great family movie & a date in time, and not a terrifying global catastrophe.

My husband and I saw this the day it came out. We've seen better, and we've seen worse. This movie was ok....I think Rolan Emmerich could have done better with this one. He did wonderful with Stargate. 2012 is a pretty good movie, but I would say that if you want to see it, then go. If you don't want to see it, go find a better one to watch.

This movie was SO freaking boring and stupid that people were walking out of the screening. I'd rather be forced to sit through Transformers 2 again. THAT'S how pitifully bad this thing is. There's not one character or single line of dialogue in the picture that's not the lamest, most obvious or just totally uninteresting. I would definitely wait until it came out on cable. Very unfeasable, should not have gone through 2009-2012 so quickly, too long and who wanted to watch a love story??? With all of the modern technology, this movie should have been much better

The Plot of the movie was good, it was based on both ancient historical findings and biblical prophecy. The special effects/suspense parts had me on the edge of my seat. The acting in the movie needs to improve, there was a couple of times I couldn't connect with the actors.
